Could Uncle Jeff have lead Utah to the 2nd round of the Western Conference playoffs in 16-17?

Green landed the C’s the Memphis pick which could become a late lottery pick this year

He also landed Memphis the LAC pick which the C’s later acquired.

Is this a disguised Jeff Green appreciation thread?

Hilarious since you forgot to mention Donovan's rise, he was just as important, and he had just as good of a playoffs.

But keep living in that year. Celtics got fooled.

I read that wrong.

Obviously Jeff Green most likely would not be able to lead that team. Jeff Green is what he is.

The problem is that here Hayward is the 3rd best player on the team, but that role does not bode well for him. In essence, Jeff can play that role just as good.

Hayward's outlook is doomed imo. Simply because he is in new surroundings and he is not comfortable in this type of offense. In Utah it was totally different.

I doubt he will average over 13 points per game. The pressure is already on as well.

Ray Allen as the 4th guy at the age of 36 was still averaging 14.6 a game, and played hurt for 30 games before he had to finally sit out.

Gordon has the benefit that he is injured, so it's a good excuse for now. He just doesn't seem that good of a player though.

before injury he was as good athlete IMO , and way better NBA player . Green has no heart , its a pay check , but he is super nice guy ...too nice to a point.

I listened to a podcast last week where a host referred to Jeff Green as a hobbled man’s Harrison Barnes

Hayward is hobbled too. He is just an average NBA player right now. The Celtics got burned on this deal. He is not leading the Celtics anywhere playing at the level he is now.

They’re not similar players but I’d say they’re about equal right now. GH is a better playmaker and team defender while JG is a better scorer, rebounder, and individual defender. Both can’t be relied on to consistently carry a team although occasionally, they will tease flashes of brilliance and thus, will win a game for you.

The biggest diff is that JG is healthy and this is his full potential while GH is still recovering.

I just think we all need to relax about Hayward. He looks rough now. He has bad nights and good nights (more bad for sure), but anyway who knew anything about the sort of injury he went threw could have told you its gonna take a while, maybe even a full year before he gets back to the player he was (which is a borderline 3 team all NBA guy). The only reason theres so much angst about this is the Boston market, where we had people seriously suggesting he was gonna be back for the playoffs last year and dissecting every soundbite form Ainge and Stevens for proof.

Right now maybe he isn't better than Jeff, but he will be.

Green isn't a better rebounder. Their rebounding numbers are very close with Hayward actually having a very slight edge.

I'm also not sure Green is a better scorer right now. Their ppg are similar and Green's shooting %'s are a lot better but given the variety of ways Hayward puts points on the board, even in the state he's in, I'd still count him as a better scorer than Green, who needs a playmaker to help him score.

Even in recovery, I think Hayward is still clearly better than healthy Jeff Green.
