Can he stop him? No. Now can he slow him down? Also No. Bigger question is can he stop taking contested mid range jumpers with a open 3 point shooter one pass away. No way in hell.

Ha! I hear that. But ... he (mostly) did that today! Mostly took spot-up 3s and drove to the bucket when he had a legit mismatch.

Here is an optimistic theory: he will play a more controlled game like that when he’s out there with the starters - he gets better looks and he knows they will be (correctly) p*ssed if he’s jacking terrible shots.

Yes, I know this is a little like expecting Marcus to stop taking above the break threes early in the shot clock. But I gotta hope. Today’s Morris is the player he could be with a little more discipline..

I have felt all season that Morris is better than a lot of people have given him credit for.  He has been inconsistent, can't deny that but I don't think how he played tonight is an outlier or anything like that.  Some injury has bothered him all season.  I don't know the extent the injury could still bother him but it appears to me that he has been solid for the end of the season and the playoffs.  I will not be surprised to see him play well all series.

Morris is the biggest boom or bust player I have ever seen.
He is either great or terrible, not much in between.

what's even crazier is that the rest of our team compensates for his bad games and bad tunnel vision he has occasionally

He played bad in the sixers yet it didn't affect our outcome in the series

When he plays bad, the game is close
When he plays good, the game comes into double digit leads and potential blowout territory depending on how well the others are shooting
