Even when the team was playing extremely awful in the first half, and while they were down like 20-25 points (or more) for much of the first half and the first part of the 3rd quarter, the crowd was STILL in the game, and was actually pretty loud as well.

Can't speak for all other teams/fanbases, but I feel confident in saying that if that happened to another home team (getting demolished), most of the fans in the arena probably would have just left halfway, or been extremely quiet (sort of like the Miami Heat fans of the Big 3 Era with Lebron, right?   )

And you could tell in the last 15 minutes of the game that, as the Celtics fought back and also got the crowd roaring again, the Rockets looked shook. When I look at it, the only real thing that kept Houston still in the lead for much of the last 3-4 minutes were some dumb TO's by the Celtics and some "Hail Mary 3's" by Harden, otherwise it looked like the C's from 5 minutes left in the game would coast to a win (w/o needing the last minute thriller).

Either way, the TD Garden crowd was fantastic, definitely was our 6th man last night (sorry Marcus Morris!), and the whole game felt like an insane playoff atmosphere (with some key injuries on both sides, I'll agree). Dare I say, a "possible" Finals match-up this year OR next?  :o

Celtics need Hayward to get to Finals. If he can come back and be 75% of his normal self, we can get past Cleveland.

As for Houston..... who do you really trust? D’Antoni? Ran some great offenses to top records only to flame out in the playoffs. CP3? Eh, he’s still yet to lead his team to a Finals. Or Harden? After that epic quit job last year, nobody should have faith in him to lead any team too deep. Any one of them can overcome their past with the right situation. I just don’t feel as the three most important guys to the team, they are going to make much noise in the playoffs.

Its the type of game , pretty much all post season will be for Celtics .   Gut check , close ,  nothing comes easy .

Why we need Smart on the team .  Guys that don't ever give up .   Morris and Tatum, Brown  never seem to know quit either .

Crowd helped motivate Irving , Morris and Horford .....you could see it .

Some other factors to consider are what trades/signings the C's and Cavaliers make in the coming months, and along with "Hayward watch", also seeing how Isaiah does when he returns.

Watching at home I was impressed by the crowd too, even when they were down big.  And when they were coming back it was nuts.  Got me jacked watching at home, can't imagine what it was like in the building.

What does any of this have to do with this thread?

Glad the fans stay more supportive than so many of the posters in the game threads.

I was there... almost complete sellout and it was live.  From the national anthem on, which made their putrid 1st quarter that much more frustrating.

They really do, after an atrocious first half they were roaring when we'd hit baskets that put us down 21. Very few home crowds would still be pulling for a team that hard that early in a comeback after a half like that.

I was at the Celtics playoff game when they made the biggest comeback in playoff history (24 points in the 4th quarter). Antoine Walker made a passionate speech at a young Pierce and he turned on to beast mode.

That was the best game I've been on. The crowd was into it even when we were losing and when we won, we were hugging strangers. When we left the Garden on Causeway, the cars in traffic were just honking and people were just partying in the streets. I had never seen anything's like it. It was like Brazil in World Cup mode. Absolutey awesome!

If you were there, enjoy the memory.

Better than Miami Heat fans in the 2013 NBA Finals.

When they left early and then Ray Allen nailed a 3-pointer to tie the game. They all begged to come back in ahahaha.
