There's a reason he is playing better defense then he did in Cleveland.   It's because Stevens actually coaches defense.  I doubt any of the practices in Cleveland looked like this:

Saw this video somewhere recently.  Yeah, the team buy-in since Stevens has gotten here has been really impressive.  Favorite part of that video is seeing Waltah McCarty on the court again.  Dude turned R&B singer after basketball, the beard is on point, and he stuck with the Cs.

I liked when Kyrie was doing the drill and Stevens corrected him, told him to get his hands up.  Stevens is teaching him how to play defense.

Yep.  They all must really listen to his advice too for being so bought in.

Is it not cool that Waltah stayed with the Celts?  I wish we could get Paul in that role.

Pierce is a TV guy and probably made 20 times more money than Walter did. Travel isn’t great when you have a family!

I was impressed by Stevens in his first season.  That was a completely dysfunctional roster with a lot of veterans in a bad situation with a 36 year coach who looked about 26 and had no NBA experience.  It had the potential of being a disaster, but the team bought into him and played surprisingly well regardless of the lack of wins.

Yeah, and Pierce is a thoughtful, likeable analyst.  Maybe after he gets bored with TV, the continued fame, and the money that comes with it.   :-\

Brad has all the coaching tools to be an ATG coach. One of Danny’s best moves in his nearly 15 years as GM.

Give me Brad Stevens over Flop Rivers any time of the day.
