A hand full of guys in the NBA are what I would consider tough.   I seen a lot of tough guys in the service.   Smart I think would be one of them.   Rondo is another.   But a lot of the league are prima donnas.  I think this is true of society as whole, although most people like to think they are tough.   I was tough when I was younger but I think I am just a middle aged man now.   Some of the tough athletes are in football, UFC, and boxing.   A lot of pro wrestlers are tough but they are sports entertainers (basically stuntmen).

LeBron should not be mentioned in any threads regarding toughness.   He is a great player and an incredible athlete but I would not call him tough.

tough teams don't get raped at home by a thousand points , tought teams dont give up 100 three pointers.

Our team is not tough.

2008-2012 team was tough.

I love those Celtics teams as much as any, but they had a few very disappointing no shows in elimination games on their home court.

Really? dissapointing? Which ones? Losing to the Magic? without Garnett and having to play Scalabrine and Mikki Moore?

Oh they lost Miami , who ended up winning the Championship that year

Lebron's game 6 was his most legendary game of all time at our house, still the game was neck and neck...

You know nothing if you say they were dissapointing games. The team always fought hard.

This past year was an embarrassment of literal historic proportions.

The Celtics team that lost from 2008-2012, was always almost the underdog. They never truly were blown out of the arena.

Im disgusted by some fans revising history , but can't see what happenned a few months ago.

I didn't say the losses themselves were disappointing.  I said the way
they lost was.  If the point was toughness, they were "out toughed" in all of those examples,  and I do remember feeling disappointed about that (not revisionist). I'd leave Game 7 vs Lakers off my list because I felt they left it all on the court that night. Again, I love those guys, but they had key games where they let the other team walk all over them.

I think the title should be changed to physical rather than tough. You don't have to be strong like Smart to be tough. Not everyone has that body type.

There are many slender players you can say are tough.  I'd say Bradley is a tough player, just not physical or strong like Smart.

They weren't "out toughed."

They were beaten by healthier, younger teams. There is very little doubt in my mind that the KG-era Celtics would have won three titles (at least) if they were able to stay healthy, but hey; crap happens.
