Zero chance it can be done without one of the good picks

Then you don't make the deal.

I think Danny is just negotiating and that the Lakers/Kings pick will eventually be offered.  The Pacers, however, will not get both that pick, players, and the Nets pick.  And yet, the Celtics offer will still be the best offer.

If Boston doesn't offer one of Brown, Tatum, BKN, or LAL then Boston will not have the best offer and George will end up on a different team.  I'd rather just give one of those up and ensure George is here for at least a season.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

  • Larry Bird for President
Crowder
Bradley
2018 Lakers pick (which will be top 5)
2019 Memphis or Clippers pick

That should be the deal.

Ainge Double Downed last years 1st pick for two shots at a high pick next year..  The Laker Pick could end up #2 and the BK could be #4 or 5 for all he or anyone else knows..

Ainge is a gambler, No way does he get rid of the two huge franchise changing shots in the dark this year for a possible 1 year rental - especially when he doesnt have to..

(Dream Scenario) Landing #1 and #2 next year...   I think this is his ultimate fantasy..  A 1 yr Rental is not worth waking up early for if this is what he is seeing in his head.

I'm all for trading picks.. your right, 2 shots at Porter and Bamba next year says, "waited this long, what's another 82 games....

Other available picks:
Memphis
Clippers
Celtics

Other available players

Bradley
Smart
Rozier
Crowder

Which teams can beat a package of some/all of that, and are interested?

Both smart and Bradley are the same

Also tony allen is a free agent. We might be able to bring him back for min
Bradley is several levels better than Smart, and backup point guards are everywhere.

Ehhh I prefer to lose Bradley over Smart. Guy's a defrnsive monster and younger.

Leaving aside contracts, who's a better basketball player?

This is a loaded question.  Bradley is the better player but Smart would be the better player for the newly constructed team.  Smart can lead the 2nd unit.  Bradley cannot.  I'd feel more comfortable having Smart and Rozier together then Bradley and Rozier.  I love both Bradley and Smart but the things Smart does on the court cannot be completely measured by stats.

Bradley is 4 years older let's see where Marcus is by then.

Pull in the reins on George - Twitter is full of George telling people he wants to play for LA.  I want George a LOT, after Hayward, but I don't want to risk much if there's no extension and he's just a rental.  By the way, I think the Rubio trade means no Hill and I think that helps us.

Is anybody else holding their breath?

I want and really hope for Hayward.

Don't care about George. Can't do anything if he's hell bent on joining the Lakers and would cost a lot..

I agree about Hayward as being #1 - just wonder if potentially getting George has anything to do with Hayward?  I know in the past they have wanted to play together.....  If Hayward knows we can't/won't get George - does that impact his decision?

I just wonder if I was good enough this year to get lots of presents from Santa.....this is Christmas Eve......
