When asked jokingly whether only “half” of him likes Boston –– Griffin is 50 percent black –– he briefly touched on the city’s racial history. “Half of me loves it,” he said. “The other half is hit-and-miss. It depends on who I run into. It depends on what story I’m reading about people being heckled at a Red Sox game.” – via WEEI.com

God, I'm so sick of this narrative that the sports media continues to push regarding race and Boston. Wasn't Boston one of the first teams to employ and use African-Americans regularly throughout the organization??

No one ever says the team is racist.  It's the City.

I am sick of the stereotype also but there are always a few idiots that have to put it in the news (Red Sox / Orioles game) and until we as a society can tell these idiots that we are NOT OKAY with their behavior then it will continue.

Oh yes, racist Boston. Do they ask such things about Atlanta, Charlotte, or Memphis?
