I dont see the appeal of this trade at all. You basically give Philly the best guard prospect in a number of years for the chance to get another top pick next year. Lets assume Embiid and Simmons stay relatively healthy over the next 5 years. How many games are you going to win playing against Fultz, Embiid, and Simmons when you have Brown, say Tatum, and lets be optimistic and say Ayton and Duval? When look at that list I see the 3 best players are on Philly thus I dont see how you move past them long term.
This deal has the potential to put them in no mans land. You have enough pieces to trade for Butler but you still lose to Cleveland and in the future you dont have the horses that have a high enough level to beat a Philly or Milwaukee.
Lets count our good fortune and take Fultz and if you are lucky next year to get top 4 you roll with that and say we have our young core to move into the future.
