to visit the Smithsonian and eat excellent pizza in Georgetown.
Georgetown isn't where I'd go for pizza.
Where would you go for pizza? My brother lives in Silver Spring and we go to Mod, which I like. But I'm sure the city has some good options.
Oh, as for this thread. I'm pretty convinced that we lose Game 3. Just too much emotion. I'm split on Game 4. I'd like to believe that we win it, but they are very, very good on their home court.
So let's call it that they win 1.5 games and we win 0.5.

As a fellow Silver Spring resident, I go to Pete's for New Haven/New York style pizza (they call it New Haven, but I think they're more NY) and Pacci's for a Neapolitan pizza. Roscoe's in Takoma Park is slightly better than both of those, but not enough for me to get on the Metro for one stop instead of walking to eat somewhere. If I'm going into DC just for the purpose of getting pizza (which I've definitely done) I would choose Menomale in Brentwood. And if I'm looking for the best pizza in the DMV, hands down it's Pupatella in Arlington, which is as good as any pizza I've had in the US. It's where the Italians go, and if you aren't already in line when they open for lunch, you might not get a table.
Admittedly, I prefer Neapolitan pizza. If I want (or more accurately my dining companions want) trendy gourmet, but not a pure Neapolitan-style, I'd also recommend Timber Pizza, Two Amy's, and Ella's (a block from the Verizon Center, so convenient for a pre-playoff game meal) are all good. DC can't hold a candle to Boston for places to just walk in and grab a slice from. There's a local chain called Flippin' Pizza that's okay, but only because most other places are barely edible. Adams Morgan has a few places that all declare to be the best of the slice shops, but they'd barely be considered ordinary in Boston.
(Note: There was a period in my life where I wanted to start a pizza blog. Then I discovered the NBA CBA and these forums.)
