I know this might be a long shot but I just read a Blazers article talking about hypothetical trade scenarios involving trading McCollum for a big man like Tyson Chandler Andrew Bogut or Nerlens Noel before this year's trade deadline. This of course made me wonder if the Celtics could trade for him, whether fans would want him, how he would fit in with our system and who we would lose for him. I think this team is doing great without a trade so it might be best not to rock the boat, however after watching his game tonight against the Mavs (and plenty others) it should be obvious that a player that shoots and plays as well as him is surely a valuable asset. What do you guys think??

Here's the article (from early last month):

No. We don't need another guard. What we need is a rebounder and a rim protector.

McCollum won't be cheap and trading one of our core pieces during the mid-season could disrupt this team's chemistry.

The Celtics could trade for just about every player in the NBA save for maybe 5-10. However, I don't see Portland willing to move him without getting a Nets Pick (nor do we really need him), so I'd pass.
