Kevin Pelton has a piece on ESPN Insider about the Chinese league that includes something about Yabu. Anyone with Insider able to share?

Kevin just tweeted me he didn't think his defense was good enough to help the Celtics right now. I retweeted he might help with his rebounding. Looks like a tough kid.

Guerschon Yabusele (Shanghai)

CBA stats: 19.6 PPG, 8.5 RPG

Projected NBA stats (per 36 minutes): 13.6 PPG, 7.5 RPG

The Celtics have to be encouraged by what Yabusele has done this season in the CBA.

While his per-36 minute averages don't jump off the page, Yabusele has shown FIBA 3-point range and has been far more efficient than he was in the NBA Summer League last year.

That would be quite an encouraging transition, honestly. I hope he comes back soon because I do worry in Chinese league he is encouraged to be an offensive piece, and I'd love him focusing on defensive development.

That's interesting. How were the projected stats calculated?
