Come on now KGLL, Jackson is far ahead of where Jaylen was as a prospect. I'd take Jackson and Isaac, probably a Sophomore Ivan Rabb, perhaps a Lauri Markkanen, definitely a Malik Monk and you might even be able to talk me into a De'Aaron Fox.

I'll even throw in the high school question mark Hamidou Diallo. Finally perhaps even Bam Adebayo, Frank Ntilikina and Miles Bridges. which brings us too...

I value production and Jaylen's was rough coming out of Cal. So far IMO JB's ahead of schedule and he should finish his career as a better player than many of the guys on this list but I'll admit I was not high on him as a prospect during the draft process last year. That being said guys 9-15 are pretty interchangeable with Jaylen.

Jaylen was also on a Cal team that missed the tournament where he shot to .294 from the college 3.

There were a lot of question marks around Jaylen at the time, he had a long stretch of games this season where he couldn't hit the broadside of a barn.

This draft is loaded with shot makers. I don't know about 13 better prospects in terms of long-term potential, but there are very conceivably 13 prospects that I would feel are farther along in their development than Jaylen was at the time.

This is just crazy talk.  I agree with the poster that said drafts tend to get hyped until they aren't.  The Marcus draft was supposed to be all but not turning out that way.  The draft from several years before (the one with Barnes) was the best since who knows when but it didn't turn out that way.

As far as all those guys, you'll see the warts soon enough.  The Kentucky guys are not great NBA prospects.  Josh Jackson is essentially jaylen brown.  They're almost the same guy, down to the shaky jump shot.  Right now, people would take Giles over jaylen?  You can't just ignore his injury history you know.  Rabb is a solid guy.  Bottom line is there aren't that many better prospects than jaylen.

Stop just stop. Bridges maybe? Come on. I have seen Bridges for 3 years and he aint Jaylen. They arent even close. The HS kid is widely being viewed as needing to go to college. If you just said ok lets judge Jaylen off of Cal then I could agree that you drop him but as you can see with Buddy it aint all about college.


These lists are totally subjective but I certainly dont agree with putting him behind many of the players you listed because I have seen most of them for over a year and a half and Im not seeing the same thing.

With that said I like your top 8 although I dont like Ball all that much as a player and I would not take Monk over him. The rest I can see based on what I have seen and the sites I trust. I will say that a consistent dribble pull up game by Brown blows alot of these guys out the water.

 No greece you're wrong. Jaylen would be an undrafted free agent this year.  There are at least 97 guys that are better than him this year. And I'll name them too.

This freshman class is the most talented in many years and they are almost all playing well so far.  Giles hasn't played yet and Tatum and Bolden have just returned from their injuries.  All the analysts are talking about how good the freshmen are.  The draft projects to be very good and very deep.  However the draft is a long way off.  Once conference play starts some of the freshmen could start to level off or their flaws become more apparent.  If their play does remain strong, you could see some of the prospects outside the top 10 wait until the 2018 draft. 

That being said if the Nets pick stays in the top 10, we should get a prospect at least as good as Brown.  I just wish we had a 2nd pick in this draft rather than the 2018 draft.

I like what I've seen of Jackson so far better than what I saw of Brown in his freshman season.  Brown really only impressed me when he got out on the fast break.  Considering the options available, I was fine with the Brown pick but I didn't have particularly high expectations for him.  So far Brown has played somewhat better for us than I expected he would this early.
