Tonight, for some inexplicable reason I was thinking about how much it cost the Celtics ownership to pay the players on the floor each night. So, I looked up the current salary structure.
http://www.spotrac.com/nba/boston-celtics/cap/It says they pay $95,760,561 per season in total salaries (including tax and players they let go). Dividing that number by 82 I came up with $1,170,731.70732/game.
Not a bad night's pay for a bunch of men to run around and play basketball for a couple hours. Of course, when one takes into account the amount of time these players put in for training and practice then the salary/time-spent goes down considerably.
