Either Danny is very desperate for additional 3 point shooting, or a trade is coming.

Ryan Kelly is very similar to Olynyk in their style of play. (Other than KO always being injured, and taking long periods of time returning to action.)

Who knows, maybe Danny got a taker on Olynyk. But I'm not buying the he wants another stretch 4 in Maine to develop.

The trade may not come immediately, but some where during the season, I think DA may be looking to possibly move KO, and another player, to get a buck for two 50 cent pieces.

Ryan Kelly was already cut. This was purely a Red Claws move. Don't try to read too much into it
I'm bitter.

Guys, the idea of having a D-league affiliate is to be able to farm young players - either the ones you have on the 15man roster or ones you could possibly sign up later during the season if you need additional deapth and have empty roster spots.

To do so, the best scenario seems to be Maine to reproduce the system that the Cs use. Bringing in a Olykyn lite sounds as something very relevant for players to learn how to play when called up by Coach Brad

For all the talk about fireworks and blockbuster trades, it's these little details that make me feel like the C's are in good hands. Kelly is a guy who has been productive in the past and might fit in with the Celtics system. Locking him up for the Red Claws is a prudent little move that doesn't mean a whole lot other than Danny and the C's are utilizing every avenue available to them to make sure they've got talent.

Saw that video where he scored 20 pts against the Celtics as a Laker. Looked better than Young or Hunter there. Worth stashing in D-league.
