Rosier looked fantastic- ready to come off the bench as a combo guard if he keeps it up
Hunter looked fantastic- This year, I think he will be key off the bench, as a poor man's Kyle Korver
Lentil looked good, probably makes 15 man roster
Jackson looked very good.
Yabusele- ****, looked like a blown pick, can't jump over a napkin. Seems like a poor defender.
Brown- meh, dissapointed. Too many weaknesses on offense. Perhaps a bust.

I liked what I saw from brown. Very aggressive, hit alot of his FTS,  (missed alot late, but he looked gassed, along with simmons) but his stroke looked better than advertised. He had a step back go in and out, and he drilled a 3 that he took. Definitely does not look broken. As others have said, he showed flashes that make you almost positive he will be an elite slasher. Seemed he wanTed to take Holmes head off.

Rozier - most consistent player out there for both teams. Stroke looks alot more advanced. Super athlete.

Bentil-shot looks as good as advertised. Also looked better on closeouts than I thought he would. - we will see how summer league goes, but would like to see him atleast make the roster.

Hunter I don't get the raves. He looks like he should only take wide open 3s. Thought he had a shot of fouling out of a summer league game (impressive, you need 10 to do so.) Looked decent driving, but had some crazy attempts. Handle looks very serviceable for a sg. He should make the roster, but between rozier and smart he probably should only get spot minutes. Not like young who should probably be cut.

Yab looked like a bust. Worst than Thornton last year.
Bentil looked like a high second round pick level talent. Not as great as Mickey last year though.

It's only 1 game.

Yab looked bad on defense and didn't do much on offense (I watched the 2nd half). There were four defensive possessions where he made rookie errors.
-On one, Jonathan Holms drove one way, Yab committed, and Holms made him look silly with a quick change of direction that sent Yab flying the wrong direction leading to a baseline layup.
-On another, Yab was very late to help under the rim and gave up an open layup.
-On a third, Yab tried to ice a PnR but allowed the guard to blow right by him, and he had to reach and commit what I think was his 5th foul.
-On a fourth, I didn't see very clearly what happened, but Yab somehow got turned around with his back to his man, giving up a layup.

This type of defense was evident in some of his highlight videos. In a draft day post I called it matador defense. After thinking about it, sometimes it's more like observational defense....he simply watches players drive past him.

The good news it was his first game. He should improve.

Yabu looks raw and will need some seasoning abroad, particularly his defensive awareness and intelligence.  Otherwise, I think Yabu could be a high-quality role player in 4 years.

Similarly, Bentil needs some seasoning passing the ball and defensive positioning, but he does flat out put the ball in the hoop with high frequency.  I think he is much closer to contributing, maybe in a couple years he will have a pronounced role.

Yabu is a clear stash, not ready to contribute now, still raw but has the tools.

Willing to forgive the insane assessment of Brown as a bust, due to the fact that Len Lentil is just a great nickname(s).

Bentil has been inconsistent. He is tweener in a bad way on the defensive end.   Offensively has the tools to stretch the floor

Doubt he makes the Celtics roster

Jackson has looked decent on the other hand. Looks a little nervous out there.  With some more games under his belt I can see him become comfortable/flourish

I like Yabu's personality on the court... he has some tools, one knock though is that he's been passing up threes and maybe he's trying to show other areas of his game (drive and dish, etc.) but I'd like to see that 42% 3pt shooting in France at work.

I think you can attribute some of his lack of threes to Rozier's lack of getting him the ball on pick and rolls. Rozier has been great, but I'd like to see him make his picker more of a scoring threat.

I think we will be using the D-league stash this year.

Summer league is meaningless, scrubs vs. scrubs with a few decent players mixed in.

Drawing conclusions from summer league = total exercise in futility.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Well, if you suck against scrubs, that's certainly meaningful to an extent.

It's not really a stash because those guys count towards the big league roster if they sign with the C's.  Those who don't get a contract can make more money overseas (like Thornton, Zizic maybe Yabu) than the slave wages paid to D-leaguers who don't have a big league contract.
