We might not have superstars but with the drafting of Brown, we have legitament top tier talent at every position except maybe PF.   No offense to Sully.

Aren't superstars 'top tier talent'?  Having a guy who is considered a 'top tier talent' but not an all star or superstar sounds mutually exclusive, to me :-\. Or are you saying that we have some of the best players in the league at their respective positions?

It's hard to say Smart and jaylen are superstars.  Isaiah and horford too.  I think they are top tier talent though.  That's all I meant.

Durant  is a superstar.  There's a difference there between top tier talent and superstar.

It's as much name recognition as being able to back it up.  Everyone knows who Durant is.  Even your grandmother probably does.  Marcus Smart not so much. But everyone is different.

jaylen is a rookie.  He has talent to be a top 5-top 10 small forward.  He could be right now for all I know but i don't think so yet.  Same with Smart. Horford is a top 5 top ten center.   Isaiah is the same at pg.

Isaiah and Horford are top tier at their respective positions.  Smart and jaylen have the ability to be that.

Durant is a superstar.  He's a top 5 player in the league.

Marcus is a superstar to me.  Could be one to the world  some day.  probably will always be underrated because he is a defense first player, but he'll make a name for hiimself as he p---es off opposing teams.

We are building the 2004 Detroit.
We'll win a championship with borderline allstars and solid role/bench players.

Marcus if you look at the numbers isn't even a top tier talent right now.  I put him there though because I think he is.  How many pg's went head to head against millsap in a playoff series in their 2nd year and were actually winning that matchup at times?

Marcus just need to enter 1 more basket per 10 and be declare a star.
Scoring is a very thin line that can be fixed with time. Who would have thought AB will shoot that well 4 years ago?

It sounds like I'm in the very small minority here but I view the Horford signing as a big problem for this team. I agree he makes us better but he also takes up a hige Max slot. I realize we've had no success with free agents prior but I'd love to have two free max slots right now and with cap raise next year having that open to a younger talent. But I respect people don't agree. I just see him as solid but will end up wishing that space was free.

It is quite possible that even if we didn't have Horford we couldn't afford two max players next summer.  So I'll definitely take a bird in the hand rather than two in the bush on this one.

I think DA has said they could sign two this year and one next. If they bring back Amir and JJ that would be two next summer. Horford doesn't hurt us getting two more max guys. Plus we still have to spend money or get hit with a penalty.

What is the penalty? I thought people will just share the money :S

You are correct, there is no penalty other than paying the difference between the team's salary and the floor if you're under the floor.

This is a beautiful thing. He's not even just sort of winning that matchup.

Isaiah and Rozier
Bradley and Smart
Brown and Crowder
Glut of young PF's.  Amir is pretty underrated. Sully has had a chance here.  Will be interesting what happens.
Horford

I don't think Isaiah, Smart, Brown or Horford are superstars but they are all lower level elite talents imo.  They are just young.

Marcus Smart is a lower level elite talent?  Good lord...I need a drink

Have you seen Marcus Smart?  I think talent wise marcus is an elite talent.  As a basketball player he still has to get better.

I don't care what the numbers say overly.  He's a 3rd year pg who is built like jim brown and can do a lot of things on a basketball court. He might not be as tall as some other guys or as explosive as westbrook offensively but talent wise he is up there. He's a lower level elite talent to me. He can be even better than that or worse at this point.  He plays the game how I like.  Just has to get better.

His first two years he's been playing within the team and off the ball a lot and still manages to do a lot of winning things.  His shooting has to get better and he can be more aggressive offensively but other than that he rebounds, plays defense, makes smart passes etc and hits big shots.

Highlight reel but he's played 2 years.  The talent is there
