A lot can happen, we are going to attempt to consolidate. We may trade for Okafor. Even if we don't, Imagine this in four years.

 Jaylen Brown
 Deyonta Davis
 Ante Zizic
 Zhou Qi

We have 8 picks, if you can finish with those four players your doing a great job. Sub Sabonis for Davis if he's gone at 16 Valentine is the back up plan Deyonta Davis  has huge Upside.

This could very well be a draft that we look back in five years and say wow Ainge really killed it that year and hit three Homer's.

 Another direction could be

 Murray
 Sabonis
 Maker

The draft is hit or miss but let's hope for three big hits in the 2016 draft class! Let's go Ainge don't let us down Buddy!

In four years, I want to be in the middle of a contention window, not a youth movement.

Wouldn't at least some of the young guys have developed by then, though?  Maybe?

In four years, some, if not all those guys would be already traded.

To a point, sure.  But we're on the precipice of contending now so, to me, keeping a number of players from this draft = starting over again.  I like what we have with this current core, and would rather make play at an impact player to pair with IT.

I disagree.  We're not even close to being a contender, imo, and I'd rather trade everyone and start over, with many of members of our next core coming from this draft, but I know that I'm in the minority, here, or perhaps even a party of one in this regard :-\.

I'm with you LA, If you can draft two or three stars in this draft you do it. I think Murray will be awesome. Take him he's 19 years old. He will be 23 years old scoring 20ppg. Smart will be 26, Rozier would be 26. Deyonta Davis would be 23. Plus we have two more Nets picks.

Just go out and sign the Andre Iggy's of the world and we will be awesome. Slow roll it.

If you look at drafting history, half or more of the players we take (assuming we take them all) will be out of the league by then, the rest will be bench players, role players, and starters but how many of each is highly variable.  And stars?  Who knows.  I think there could be at least one or two stars drafted drafted between 3-10.  But there could be as many busts in that range too.

The key will be whether we hit on the pick or not.

So to answer your OP, it is extremely positive and not really consistent with history.  You can back on the idea that many of the guys you listed will be just guys and won't be leading this team to a championship.  That's just reality.

Yea we are not close to contending sorry. But it's not time to start over either, we have young guys already. We need to keep adding good young talent and we are in position to do that.

I wish we were on the precipce, but I don't think so.  Danny has some serious work to do to turn his assets into a contending team.   Big gap between current Cs and the top 6 teams.   Multiple moves for stars needed, or, patience as the youth develop.

I say we trade all of our picks this year besides #3 for Greg Monroe. Trade AB for Serge Ibaka. Take the BPA at #3.  Draft Josh Jackson next draft and Deandre Ayton the year after.  Hopefully by then Mickey, Rozier, Smart, Terry Rozier, and our other young guys develop into Golden State Warriors role player level players and we make smart financial decisions.  This way we stay competetive with a very good and balanced starting 5 this upcoming season (IT, Smart, Jae, Serge, Monroe) while also maintaining cap flexibility and all of our high draft picks for the future (#3 this year and all our nets and own picks).

Feels like we are in a unique situation.. We can continue to grow as a playoff team "contend"  and we can build a solid foundation.

The last 4 teams every year for the most part are teams that have a face, a cornerstone player.. (not the coach)
We Should want to come out of this with 2 or 3 real players that can carry us for the next 10-12 years..  (or at least 8 - 9 years)

Adding a Player next to IT will still leave us consistently outside of the Top 4 (Memphis, Dallas, Wizards, and the clippers) and will probably last for about 4 years.
After which we will find ourselves back to square one but without the 2 hall of fame instant Franchise Restarter options (KG & Pierce).

We have enough picks to get immediate help for our 48 win team and Build the future at the same time.
