When a rumour is true, it is not a rumour.

Non of this is true. Its all speculation by the media to create stories to talk about. You guys will see soon that Danny did not say or not done anything to warrant such views. Just like last February when all these speculations were hitting the internet about trades with every player tied to Boston. Danny admitted he had no idea about 3/4 of the rumors and non of them had any truth to them. Simply fabricated by the media.

It depends on the source of the trade rumor. If it is a legitimate source (somebody in the organization or a player, an honest agent,  or the league office), it is a true rumor. The pundits do have legitimate sources. If the source is fictional, like many of the created internet rumors, or falsely planted intentionally by an agent to gain leverage, then it's not true. The trouble is distinguishing between the two.

Merriam - Webster
Full Definition of rumor
1:  talk or opinion widely disseminated with no discernible source
2:  a statement or report current without known authority for its truth

What say you now?

Yeah, but if there were no rumors, what would we all do during the day? Our real jobs?

So you think Ainge is just sitting in a room not talking to any team about anything basketball related?

Nah I'm sure he's game planning. But he's got the draft prep to. I'm sure once FA starts things will be flowing. I'm staying out of the rumor mill. All I want to see is Danny Ainge say in his own words what he's done. I pay no attention to the reports or rumors. They do nothing for me. I don't get excited hearing about what might, could or should happen. I wait till it actually happens to respond to it. I know everyone's waited for this summer hey so am I but I'm not gonna get sucked in to the media frenzy. And believe me, I cannot wait to see what this team looks like come the fall. But Im waiting for the official announcement. I want what happens not what might happen...

GOD FORBID!!!  :o
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

This is proof why people get con'ed. I bet you watch fox news and believe everything they say to right ? Lol

Dude, you need to check yourself. This is just downright rude. These forums are here for people to share their opinions, and you are free to do so. But, what do you get out of bullying and just randomly insulting people? Just stop. Thank you.

I feel like everyone is misunderstanding my point. This quote from Austin Ainge is what I'm talking about:

Quote
"The media reports trade conversations like we sit and talk for four hours straight and try to convince the other team to do it. It's more like you sit next to a guy in the gym and say, 'Hey, how are you guys doing? What are you looking to do this summer? OK. Well we might have some interest in something around there. Let's talk in a few weeks.' And then you have a five-minute conversation a month later. It's a bunch of small, little conversations. It's not usually one big negotiation like a contract signing. It's more kind of continuous communication."

Every time a media outlet reports "talks have happened" it's probably true because, like I said, Ainge (both of them) and everyone who works for him are constantly having conversations with other teams about all kinds of players. The point is that while these reports are probably all, technically, true, none of them mean anything.
