What would you guys think about trading down to #7  with Denver and picking up the #15 or #19 pick....

Then package 2 or 3 first round picks and try to move back up to #8?

With 2 picks in the top 8, it would be guaranteed to have a shot at 2 of the following players:

Simmons, Ingram, Bender, Chriss, Hield, Dunn, Brown, Murray.

but what if you cant get 8?

then you are stuck with a bunch of mid firsts you cant fit on the roster.

Why so high on Kedrick ... er ... Jaylen Brown?  ???

 ;)

Personally, I like Bender more bcs he has a higher ceiling.

But Danny picking Brown is entirely expectable. He almost always (Fab Melo is the only exception I can think) picks North Americans.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
If Danny has his eye on Brown or Chriss, I really hope he trades down and picks up additional picks - preferably in a future draft, but would be happy to trade with PHX for 4 and 13 in this one. #4 is still too high for either one of these guys (based on projections), but at least we'll have gained an additional asset.

I will be somewhat disappointed if we just make the pick and take Brown/Chriss at #3. I fully expect it to be traded for a star, a potential future star, or [hopefully] be made if Simmons/Ingram fall.

I'm more likely to trade #3 to Phoenix for #4 and #13. Maybe I'll throw in #23 if I'm feeling generous.

I then have #13 and #16 which I can try to package if anyone suits my fancy. Otherwise, I've still got two reasonably good picks.

I wouldn't move that far back.  At 7 you are missing out on the best 6 players in the draft and 'hoping' that the leftovers will be a good tier 2 player.  We don't need more picks in this draft, we already have EIGHT of them, we need quality picks.

#3 is too high for Brown IMHO.  I'm not particularly enthralled by anyone who'll be available at #3 this year - at least not at that pick.  if these were the guys available and we had the #6 pick, I'd be a little more interested but I'm still leaning towards using the pick in a trade for an all-star
Maybe Danny feels the same way and is indifferent to any of the guys between 3-7 so he trades with Phoenix at 4 to pick up the 13th pick or at least swap 13 and 16 then trades down again with Denver at 7 and picks up the 15th pick. Then he'd have 7,13,15,16 or maybe just 7,13,15. He'd get a guy at 7 he perhaps would have taken at 3 (on a cheaper deal) and then could likely move to 9 or 10 with 13 and 23 and still have the 15th pick.

Watching the reels on Brown, looks like he's great going to the basket, but he can't shoot from the outside. That's a big disadvantage over Bender, who can go inside-outside.

Choosing between Bender and Jaylen Brown I would go Bender every time. He's bigger, can play 4 or 5 and probably has a better perimeter game.
