Would you trade #3, Bradley and IT for Westbrook?
I think I would.
Cs get a top 5 player, OKC get a starting back court and #3.
optimism is a skill

Westbrook would have to be traded and I dont think anyone would trade the bank for one year of his service. He's going to LA next year

He's a beast of a player, but I don't think his BBIQ is super high and he plays like a loose cannon half the time. He averaged 5 turnovers a game against GSW, and I think he had 4 down the stretch in a close out game, can't remember if it was game 5 or 6. He's kinda like Harden. Lots of good numbers, but can he lead a team, put them on his back? I'm not too sure.

Plus I bet he's heading to LA.

OKC is in a win-now mode.

So, yes. They should explore ways to replace him. The original poster's offer appears fair. Question is, "are they amenable with having IT and draft a PG in Dunn or Murray to take over RW's role? Frankly, I believe it is a very good proposition.

OKC is a complete team. They could make another title run but not with RW. Originally, I thought of them making a trade for Rose but I just read this new trade proposal for us to make and it seems really ok.

No way. Not only would he hurt our team, Stevens would quickly go back to coaching NCAA ball.

Please no, draft Dunn if you want to go that route.  Huge assets for a one year rental when there is a 2.5% chance of winning a title?  Pass...

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
In terms of pure value, it is probably fair, but only if Russell would extend before the trade. Westbrook is on another tier compared to IT, who I rate highly with the likes of Irving and Lillard, but none are of Westbrook's caliber. He is a top 5 NBA player and you obviously need to pay a premium for that.

In this scenario, we retain Crowder, Smart, and likely Turner. However, because he is an expiring, there is just no way you can sink that much into a possible one-year run - especially with the uncertainty in our front court.
