Did someone say injury risk?

MAR 1, 2016 12:35 AM

Danilo Gallinari has torn two ligaments in his right ankle.

Gallinari suffered the injury on Sunday.

The Nuggets received several trade calls on Gallinari ahead of the deadline but they reportedly were "building around" him instead of "trading him."

Gallinari was averaging a career best 19.6 points per game this season to go with 5.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists with a PER of 19.2.

Gallinari has undergone multiple procedures on the ACL in his left knee and tore the meniscus in his right knee last season.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.

1. I don't think any GM would have give value for Galo in the deadline. That's probably the real reason why Denver ended up keeping him.

2. I don't think Galo out will make Denver much worse than they are already. Our pick will be 4th most likely.

Ouch. I feel bad for the guy.

Can this talented Italian ever catch a break?

Gallo has been so good this year.  This is really a shame.

That really sucks, and these sort of injuries linger even after surgery for basketball players.

  • What a Pub Should Be
Blows for Gallo & blows for Denver.

That's a real setback.

You might want to rephrase that.  :)

Agreed.

It doesn't bother me so much when you get arrogant deuchebag guys getting injured, but I feel bad for Gallinari because from what I have seen he seems like a good guy, and he has obvious talent. Sad that he can't catch a break.

Same was true for Brandon Roy as well - felt that guy really deserved to have better luck then he did.
