If you're new to Celticblog (or just need a refresher), here is a handy guide to how the next 24+ hours will unfold:

Wednesday PM: Read several different "The Celtics are Involved in Possible Acquisition of Superstar X!" stories

Thursday AM: Pursue every tweet, blog, rumor mill, Youtube comment and news source outside the Globe and Herald for scraps of information related to said superstars.

Thursday around noon: Read with mounting dismay as stories from every opposing GM in possession of rumored superstar emerge: "Ainge was offering us two folding chairs and a 2026 2nd rounder for that guy! He's ****g NUTS!"

Thursday, 1PM-2PM: Scan other rumored deals. Construct scenarios in which C's can get involved as 3rd team  - with the Celtics somehow getting significantly more back in return than their trade partners - who were, you know, about to make a deal between themselves anyway.

Thursday, 2:10 PM: The last-minute "holy $&%# could that happen?!?!" rumor makes the rounds.

Thursday, 2:28 PM: Said deal is denied with extreme prejudice by all rumored parties involved. "Source" is revealed to be cat accidentally walking across a keyboard and sending a tweet.

Thursday, 2:29 PM: Blakely mounts hot pursuit of "source" above, hoping for another tidbit.

Thursday, 2:30-2:56 PM. NOTHING. Danny Ainge seen leisurely making his way through the line at his local Target, buying a printer cable, Cheetos and Herbal Essences shampoo.

Thursday, 2:57 PM. Desperation mounts, to the point of visiting the Boston Globe Sports section online.

Thursday 2:59 PM: Vague rumblings, "Ainge might be up to *something*."

Thursday, 3:01 PM: Last minute announcement: the Celts made two deals!!!!!! Frantic search for details....WHERE ARE THE DETAILS????

Thursday, 3:04 PM: Deal #1 involves moving "end of bench player 1" for "corpse and quite possibly somewhat valuable future draft pick." Curses...

Thursday, 3:06 PM: Deal #2! Decent player for expiring vet, young guy and pick. (Celtics can be on either side of the deal).

Thursday, 3:08 PM
: THAT'S ITTTT???!!?!!?!?

Thursday, 3:30 PM: Exhaustive research of every player involved. Trends in corner 3 Pt% compared to

Thursday, 3:45 PM: "Man what was Danny thinking?"

Thursday, 3:46 PM: "Maybe this isn't so bad...."

Thursday, 3:52 PM: "I think this was a solid deal for the C's."

Friday, 9:45 AM: Reads post-trade breakdown in every possible media outlet.

Friday, 11:45 PM: Lunch eaten in office, while writing "Danny fleeced them again!" post on Celticsblog.

Overall, I'd actually say this is rather accurate.  You have your outliers like last year with Isaiah Thomas, but your overall point is relatively true.  It's important for people to not forget about the very real and more likely possibility that absolutely nothing happens by 3pm tomorrow.

Glad I'm not the only Celtics obsessed nut out there.

Here's to us! (Formerly referred to as the fellowship of the miserable, now more like the fellowship of the hopeful)

Excellent TP  What is Danny going to do with 3 more 2nd round picks?
