On Faried. I like him. Obviously he has been a bit of a defensive dissapointment, but he seems to fit into the grit and grind mentality and is a good rebounder and has the athleticism and strength to at least bother good post players on other teams.

This trade is more of a Gallo to Boston than Faried to Boston trade.

yay or nay?

I say No to this trade right away.

I have a serious question, why is everybody so high on Gallinari?

Do people forget 2012-2014 he didn't play because tearing ACLs.  Yes, he has scoring ability but is he a missing piece for us seriously, NO.

Faried though is an interesting piece the Celtics could add.  If we could add Faried for Lee, and Dallas's 1st and two 2nd round picks.  I'm doing this deal in a heart beat.  We get a proven player and get rid some of the draft picks.

We don't keep Johnson who we're paying 12 million a year while Faried is signed next season for 12 million, 13 million the next and 14 the next.  Faried is averaging 12.5 ppg, 8.9 rebounds, and 1 block a game this season.  Higher then any power forward or center we have.  Yes, Faried is only 6'8 but he's a Green type player who can play center if needs to.  Also by trading for Faried we don't need Johnson next year, Sully is expendable but also could be signed if he's coming at the 6-8 million a year and not sign Zeller and let go Jerebko.
Heres why people are high on Gallo.

He gets to the FT line, he hits 3s, he scores, he can play the 3 or the 4 in that "swing" roll, he is a good passer. He could probably be acquired without giving up our nucleus (Thomas AB Smart Crowder) or the Brk pick.

Hes had surgerys but so have plenty of guys, he looks good now. The fascination with him is easy to understand.

My problems with him is that he doesnt rebound well, I doubt he defends the post well and he is a bit expensive.

If ppl are high on Love here,  no reason not to be high on Gallo

Similar kind of players except Love is a better rebounder and Gallo has better perimeter skills

Gallo and Faried additions would be tremendous

You want someone to battle/overcome Tristant Thompson in the playoffs? Faried is your man.

You need a guy other than IT making crucial shots with less than 5 min left, Gallo is your man

We are a better team if this trade went through.
