Hey to each their own.  You buy a ticket you can cheer whoever you want.  But I guess I'm from a different era.  Yeah, respect Kobe - one of the all time greats - then boo the heck out of him once the game starts...that's usually been the way it works.  I was at the Warriors game and watched all the fanboys in the Curry uniforms.  Tonight Kobe's fan boys were in the building.

The cheering for the guy was a bit much, but then again, with the crap effort the Celtics gave they deserved whatever happened to them - including the loss.

Sorry, but here's the real story. it was quite evident how loud the Celtic fans could chant "defense" at or around the end of the first quarter but instead all you could here was, Kobe, Kobe. the chants for Bryant could have easily been drowned out by true Celtic fans but wasn't. maybe, just maybe the Celtics lack of effort was because they were being dissed in their own house by a bunch of inconsiderate fans that could have pumped them up instead of not backing them when they were needed the most!!!!!!!

Thank God after this season, he's finally gone.

Good riddance, Mr Sidekick, and take your rape charges with you.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

wow I think this is the closest anyone's posted anything remotely close to how I feel.

what I find funny is I've been a pretty huge Kobe fan from day 1, but have never at any time liked or appreciated him more than the C's.

ohh and yeah btw I understand there were Laker fans there, but the were plenty of times during the game where I saw green shirts visually cheering Kobe.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I think it's just out of respect.
If it were Michael Jordan's last time in the garden or Lebron's last game I think.it would be exactly the same.
It's good to appreciate the greats of the game.

If it was a playoff game maybe it would be different, but it's some fans enjoying and saluting a basketball player that's dominated the game and had a lot of memorable competing with the Celtics.

No big deal to me.

I do think the Kobe farewell tour may have been the #1 factor for us losing though....huge distraction.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

people are **** nowadays and too politically correct.  It's really that simple.  Hipster, fairweather fans everywhere even in Boston.  I can't stand it.

I honestly stopped going to the garden years ago because i went to a game and this young generation of fans are pathetic.

I don't know there isn't much b ad you can say about Gen x.  Millennials gave us hipsters, lady gaga, Britneey Spears, trance and edm music.  Boomers gave us Trump and Caitlyn jenner.  Gen x has Marylin Manson, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Grunge, Hip hop. Pretty cool in comparison.

We all grew up watching Magic vs Bird that's the thing and saw the Lakers during the 90's as well.  We were that generation that saw kobe's entire career and can really compare him to the likes of jordan, bird and magic and players today.

I agree IF they were Celtics fans.  The thing I will say is last time I went to a C's v Lakers game at the Garden there were actually a lot of Lakers fans there, which I hated.  Of course I sat right next to one of them as well.

Generation x is defined as those born in the early 60s to early 80s meaning they probably had the largest impact on our economy from the mid 80s to say 2010 being the period where corruption ran rampant throughout our economy and they built up to an inevitable collapse ****ing over future generations.

Just playing devils advocate. It is pretty hard to try and claim one generation is "better" than another

And yes I understand that the economy being Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ed is more on the baby boomer generation, but the gen x-ers have been the worst generation perhaps ever when it comes to saving money and managing finances and they didn't exactly reverse and economic trends

This quote from Aqua Teen Hunger Force sums up my thoughts:

I think those future generations were  in a lot of trouble before the collapse and generation X.  What is the deal , with their safety zones?  We have a whole generation of infantilized people coming of age in our country.

This may be because I was only 11 when the C's won the '08 title and I didn't witness Bird/Magic rivalries, but I will always hate LeBron 10x more than Kobe. Whether its his style of play, handling of media or on-court attitude I have always found LeBron to be much more unbearable.
