I do find it funny that Lee has gone down with either a leg or back injury, depending who your asking or is saying. Groman last night said he didn't remember Lee getting hurt, said it was back. Injury report said it was leg.

Could be nothing, but phantom injuries tend to lead to these things. And Noah fills more of a need than Lee for the C's and Lee fills more of a need for the Bulls.

Now a way to get McBuckets as well. :)

I have a friend who is a huge Bulls fan that thinks Noah could easily be dealt for Lee and a mid 1st round pick.

Yes, I'm sure Noah could be dealt for a mid-1st.  I'd hope Ainge isn't foolish enough to do that.
How about a late first?
Probably would get it done...but with no assurance he'd re-up, if the object isn't necessarily to win now, I'm not sure how great a deal that is.

I could see the Boston fans embracing Noah. Once most guys play here, they fall in love with being a Celtic.

Why on earth isn't the objective to win now? I hear this idea over and over again (in fairness it may not be what you meant but i hear it all the time) that unless you are the cavs or GSW or Spurs you should not be trying to win now. Winning a champioship is great but you know what is good? Winning a game. Maybe if you are the 5th or 6th worst team it kind of makes sense to try to be the worst for a top pick, but come on, 25 teams should be trying to do whatever they can to win now all the time. Winning puts butts in the seats, winning creates fans. Every single game is the first game ever for some little kid, if you win it you might get a fan for life.

Hopefully Danny can talk to someone that can talk to Noah or people who can talk to him and find out if he would want to come here and give us first shot at a new, fair deal if things worked out. If Noah is down for it a late first is fine. We have so many late picks that at some point there is a loss of value as we can't play so many young guys and in a trade no one wants tons of late picks.

Noah, and the idea of picking up good players on expirings in general, makes a lot of sense for us. Someone like Noah could potentially take us to the next level and allow us to perhaps advance to the ECF and give Cleveland a respectable series. If it works out that way, it would be huge for our development as a team and make us a much more attractive free agent destination.

If it doesn't work out, we let him walk and use our money elsewhere. The worst case scenario is when he plays well and still walks, but even then we probably only lose out on a mid-first-round pick that we probably wouldn't have the playing time for anyway.

At the same time as this, we preserve the flexibility for a third option of letting Noah walk regardless and signing Durant and Horford to a double-max in the unlikely event that they agree to such a deal.

I'd definitely deal Lee and a top-20 protected 1st rounder for Noah.

Chicago could turn around and send those assets to Charlotte for Nic Batum, who'd be a great complement to the Bulls starting lineup.

I'd rather have Batum, brings a little more offense and most importantly 3pt shooting.

C's don't lack for defense and passing...

Finally, someone making some sense around here.

Can sign Batum next year as a FA. [Although, I suppose Ainge could sign Noah next year instead.]

I still think that the C position is more of an issue than SF. I think Crowder does a fine job at the 3.

Smart/IT
Bradley
Crowder
Sullinger
Noah

vs.

Smart/IT
Bradley
Batum
Crowder
Sullinger

Actually, either of those lineups look pretty good.

Noah won't make this team a title contender. He would improve it - slightly - in that they'd be a little better defensively and he's a solid passer, so he'd fit right in.  But what will prevent this team from doing much damage in the playoffs is the lack of a real scorer to go with IT.  As was just proven during that stretch where they lost 3 in a row to good teams - they can be defended.  The scoring just isn't consistent enough.

Hey if you can get Noah and not give up much, great.  At the top of his game he's the best P & R defender in the league from the 5.  But I wouldn't trade anything significant.

Also I think Danny would junk the current season in a second if given a chance to acquire the type of player you can build a team around.

I'm completely in favor of trading Lee and a late first (or maybe even two seconds) for Noah.

We should however, wait until the deadline to do such a deal. The best thing about aquiring Lee was how his contract matches up in a trade for a star if one becomes available. Trading Lee for Noah should be the back up plan for moving Lee.

There probably isn't enough playing time for Noah with our current rotation, so if we did this I would want to ship out some other bigs in a separate deal.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Absolutely. Trade for Noah and another veteran that can help us now. Just don't trade the Nets pick unless it can help you get a young all star like Cousins.

I wonder if we could help Warriors clear cap room and get Harrison Barnes for the trouble.

I would trade 'em Brooklyn's 2016 pick if they include Butler, but i doubt they would do it...
