A hook, or a half hood is just what Kelly needs. Its a difficult shot to get blocked, because your body allows space between the ball and the defender. It also is nice as a decoy shot, for going down and under with either hand like McHale use to.

Everyone should have a hook and a Sherman Douglas running floater.

I can shoot a hook with either hand, and when I get a rebound I can always get my shot off because in any position I can get my body between the defender and the ball.
Today's players just don't get it.
