Last year there were 240 nationally televised games, and if they keep that the same this year, there will be 248 with the 8 more they just added with these ABC Saturday night games.

There's only 1,230 games total, so pretty much the top 20% of games you want to watch are already on national TV and won't be available (so just about every decent game the Warriors, Cavs, Rockets, Clippers, Spurs play).

I think if you look through the schedule, it will be very hard to find a game that's not on national TV that you'd want to pay $6.99 for.

To D.o.s.'s example: there might be a nice battle for the 8th seed late in the season that you want to watch that won't be on national TV, but I think a lot of people who would pay $6.99 for that (the hardcore fans) would have already paid $199.99 for the entire league pass anyways (which comes out to like $0.20 per game).  I don't think those casual fans are going to have many enticing options, especially at a $6.99 price point.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Look, if you live outside NE, your only choice was to either get the NBA full package for about $200. During the regular season, I will pay to watch Celtic games when I have time. This is perfect.  $6.99 is well worth it to me.  It's like downloading a movie.

Isn't there still a select package where you can choose 5 teams?

I will stick with my League pass.  I love having the flexibility of:

Grabbing a Guiness and watching celtics games from my home in San Francisco, California
scanning around for games that are close in the 4th quarter or look like upsets
picking the best match ups to watch.

I have had the league pass for a couple of years now and love it.

It does seem they've done away with the five team package. I had that last year post-Rondo trade and subscribed to the Celtics, Clippers, Wizards, Mavericks, and Thunder. I also bought the package that didn't include the television viewing...I mean, I just hooked my laptop to the television with an HDMI cable.

As Silver noted, I think the full package is a little much, in terms of games rather than price. I know there's no way I can seriously sit down and watch an excess of 100+ regular season games without being paid to do so. For journalists and analysts I can see this package making sense.

I spent about $130 last year in December for the five team package. Spending $70 more for 25 teams is okay but I'd rather have the subsidized five team deal. Whatever, $200 seems cheaper than normal.

I'm sorry but $6.99 for a single game is too much.  Something like $2.99 would be more appropriate.  Either way, I do not see myself buying any games in the near future.

They would be much better off selling the package to watch a single team (why they don't do this I have no idea?).  Even if they cut the price in half, it would be worth it for a lot of people.

If you read the article (dont read that with a snarky tone), they are offering a one team pack for about half price this year.

Finally right?!
Thanks.  As you can see, I did not read the article.  And yes, about time.
