Everyone is upset because of all the hype of the C's moving up to pick in top 10. Looking purely at the player, TRozier fortifies our group of guards as another tough bulldog. This team made the playoffs because of its TOUGHNESS. Put him in the cage with Smart, Thomas, Bradley,  and Crowder. He looks like his skills fit the bill as well. I like the identity we are putting together for an AllStar coach.

Why couldn't he even trade up to the late teens with these other 3 picks?   whats that say about draft picks outside the lottery?

Boston's best player and its best asset are PG's, so lets just go ahead and take another PG.  And did I mention this new PG can't shoot and isn't a great ball handler.  Great pick.

Miami gets Justice Winslow and Indiana gets Myles Turner.  Was making the playoffs really worth Terry Rozier over those guys.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Ainge didn't promise a trade and then backed away. You guys expected him to make all sorts of trades. You can't cook stories and scenarios in your mind and then be disappointed when they don't pan out.

BS.  We've been led down this BS path 2 yrs in a row.   Fireworks my ass.

I agree. The "ainge didn't promise anything" is a apologist bs in my opinion.

Please tell me more about how Ainge said, "Hey guys!! Guess what? We're getting Kevin Love!!!!!" and then backed away at the last moment.

I think multiple reports said that Ainge has made nearly all players available for deals. That's what a good GM is supposed to do. Nothing happened, so you can't blame Ainge.

If the Thunder want Smart, Sully AND Olynyk for Jeremy Lamb, then I'm glad Ainge didn't make such a trade. And that's most likely the type of deals that he got.

You know that's not what I mean. Of course they shouldn't make deals to make a deal but the way they speak to media gives off the impression that they will do something that will improve the team. It's giving false hope. It's ok though. Next year I will be smart enough not to pay attention.

You do realize, right, that you just admitted that all these alleged "assets" that Ainge has so skillfully accumulated - as trumpeted in the media and all over this blog - actually aren't worth anything?

I do get a hearty laugh out of people contending that it's not Ainge's fault if he doesn't have anything of value to trade

TP to Gryph for recognizing the obvious: If you're buying into the Wyc and Danny "fireworks" hype with your cash, you are the living embodiment of what PT Barnum once said.

Ainge accomplished absolutely nothing tonight to help advance this franchise. There were players on the board who could have helped, and he went all David Kahn and drafted a redundant player, spin attempts here notwithstanding.

When you look at the number of stars who got drafted at 16 and below, it's a total crap shoot.  This is an example of Danny trying to find a diamond in the rough...and since he and Stevens know the talent pool better than any of us, maybe we should give him the benefit of the doubt.

I fully expect this roster to turn over because what they ended the season with - in the big picture - gets them nowhere.  It's still about accumulating and trading assets.  Let's hope he found a couple - doesn't matter what position they play at this point.

Rozier - Another guy to bring defensive intensity to the ball club , not afraid of the moment, nose for the ball , can't teach that.

If I pretend they took RJH with the first pick and Rozier with the second, I feel a little better about our picks.  I know it makes no sense.
