Depressing that we're choosing between Kaminsky and Oubre. Sigh. Doubt either would play a lick for awhile..

I'm sure they'll have good NBA careers.

we have to?   no.   reminds me of KO-lite.   if he was BPA, offer to pick him as part of a deal for a lower pick (maybe get Justin anderson) and another asset

He was pretty clearly the best player in NCAA basketball last year, and backed it up in the tournament. That doesn't guarantee anything, but most really good players show it in college. In the final four against Kentucky and Duke, he won the battles against big men everyone says are better than him. Those games weren't outliers either. This guy is a winner.

I have no faith that Kaminsky has the athleticism to make a difference in the NBA. "Pretty clearly the best player in NCAA basketball" frankly doesn't mean much.

Former Naismith Award winners going back 15 years ...

Kaminsky
Doug McDermott
Trey Burke
Anthony Davis (!)
Jimmer Fredette
Evan Turner
Blake Griffin (!)
Tyler Hansbrough
Kevin Durant (!)
JJ Redick
Andrew Bogut
Jameer Nelson
TJ Ford
Jason Williams
Shane Battier

Three stars, a few solid starters, some role players and some scrubs. Would much rather take Dekker,  who plays a position of need, has the requisite athleticism and potentially has some upside.
