Kevin Love (shoulder) underwent surgery to repair his dislocated left shoulder on Wednesday afternoon, and he is expected to be sidelined for the next four to six months

Pretty much guarantees that he stays with the Cavs next year. Which also means Cleveland won't be players in next year's free-agency, which is good for us and our rebuild process.
You think? I think someone could still steal him by offering him a one year max or something of that nature. The injury was to his off-arm, so I don't think it should affect him that much long-term. Look at Avery. I believe he had the same sort of surgery due to his shoulders continuing to pop out in 2012, and that was on both shoulders. Since then, he hasn't had an issue with them.
I'd still offer him a contract this offseason, because I still believe that in the right system playing to his strengths he's a top-ten player in this league.
First he has to take make a decision about opting in or out by a certain date PRIOR to free-agency beginning, which means no contact with other teams.
Secondly, chances of him opting-in were already quite high considering the big money that will be available to him in 2016.
For a one year contract, why the heck would he move to another team... a team that probably would be worse than the one he's currently at, not worth the hassle... particularly during a period of rehab.
I don't see him moving anywhere. The X-Factor is what LeBron decides. Ultimately I think he stays, if he opts out it will be to do a 2 year deal with a player option or such, still don't see him playing that out.
Or he really really really has the itch to play in LA, which is good for us as well. But an LA that is rebuilding in 2015-2016 vs. a Cavs team that has a very high chance of getting to the Finals? I think the choice should be fairly obvious.
If he opts out, well we'll see how the uncertainty freezes up Cavs' free-agency movement regardless. And an injured Love, who has injury history as it is, I don't think will freeze up the full free-agency like what occurred in 2014, which is good for us as well.
I pass on Love regardless.
