There is a very remote chance we could get into the 6th spot.

Milwaukee has:
Brooklyn
Philly
Then Boston.

We are two games behind.  They lose 2  we win 2 we go into that last game against them for the 6th spot and a date with Toronto.

Only problem is that Philly game.  Any chance for a miracle there?

I'd love to see Toronto in the first round.  We can win that series.

Milwaukee holds the tiebreaker.  They need to lose all 3 and we need to win all three for this happen.  Is it impossible?  No.  Should you get really good odds from Vegas for betting on it?  Yes.

Quite frankly, I think it's more likely the C's beat the Cavs in a 7-game series than they catch Milwaukee for 6.  And I don't find it likely.

You honestly think the C's have a better chance to beat the Cav's in 7 than Milwaukee has of losing 3 in a row? Or were you being facetious?

I want to make the playoffs, but I have ZERO interest in climbing the standings.

I honestly think we have a better chance that we beat Cavs than Milwaukee loses three in a row, including one to Philly, AND we win three in a row.  I think they're both under 5% likely to occur.

Yeah Philly's not beating Milwaukee. At this point in the season Philly can't afford to damage their lottery odds. Not in the slightest. Stakes are too high (or is it low in this case?) when they've got NY, Minny, and LA in their tanking competition. Factor in what the other guy said, and yeah, don't get your hopes up about the sixth spot.

I'm actually mad the Celtics couldn't have acquired IT earlier and gone on their run before the all star break. I would have loved to face Toronto/Washington in the 1st round, 2 teams that are imploding just in time for the playoffs. Dang it.

The plus side is that when Milwaukee does officially get the 6th spot, they will more than likely rest their starters when they play us, which will cement the playoff seeding for the Cs, and frankly, that's all I want.
