Did a little research. Excluding players whose stats are too small a sample size (Young, Wallace etc.)

Our PIE leaders (Player Impact) are Zeller (12.8). Sully (12.3) and Bass (10.4)

Our Net rating is terrible for the whole team but Kelly (1.5) Smart (0.9) and Bass are still outplaying the opposition. Sully (-3.5) and Zeller (-7.0) look bad but are playing against starters for the most part.

AB is terrible in every way  6.1 PIE and -2.8 Net

So... Bass is solid. Good value wasted on a bad team
Sully is good - but not NBA starter PF good yet...same goes for Zeller

The sleeper here is Smart. He is creeping up to 7.5 PIE, is outplaying his oppnenent and has the 4th best TS% on the team. If you wash away the first quarter of the season - he would be by far our best player.

Given that he is a rookie, suffered an injury and is expected to suck, I would say he just might be our most VALUABLE player right now....

Marcus Smart.

He should start.

I'm not sure who our MVP is in terms of net contributions to winning games so far this season, though I suspect it's Rondo.

I will say with confidence, though, that the player with the highest trade value is Marcus Smart, followed by Jared Sullinger.

Here is why Smart is the current MVP:
He is one of the few players who outplays the opposition

Our 4 other "good" players (Sully, KO, Bass & Zeller) are somewhat interchangable - you could trade any one of them without losing too much (Zeller is likely the least replacable of the bunch since he is a "true" center)

Smart is the only 2 way player on the team (assuming he can maintain a decent if not good outside shooting clip)

BTW, who voted for AB as our MVP? This has got to be a joke right?

I think that Sullinger gets the better of opposing power forwards more often than Smart bests the opposing point guard, but I do agree with you. Smart has taken some severe vet-on-rookie abuse from the better PGs in the east- like Kyle Lowry, John Wall, Jeff Teague, Kemba Walker. Overall, though, average and below-average guards don't play like good guards when Smart is marking them. For a rookie, that's really something.

If he was doing better on foul calls (both ways), his numbers would probably look like those of an average-but-turnover-prone nba guard. This is not to say that Smart is discriminated against somehow- almost no rookie gets friendly whistles in the NBA (notable exceptions include Lebron James and Andrew Wiggins)

Evan Turner has most likely increased his value in the eyes of GM's in the league. His contract is very reasonable when compared to others. He can play 3 positions, and score out of all three, he aggressive, and he works on defense, he doesn't take plays off like some. Who knew he could be a starting PG?

Zeller gets a mention, considering he was given to the Celtics for a bag of balls.
I don't think Turner is any more desirable now than he was at this point last season.

I guess I would give it to Sullinger, almost be default.  This is a pretty sad topic :'(
