the c's have little outside shooting from the guard and small forward position. bradley has had a relatively poor year from 3 (.325, 3.9 Attempts per game). same with green (.311, 4.7At). turner (.432, 1.2At) and smart (.333, 3.3At) have been solid in limited opportunities, but are not naturals just yet. crowder (.211, 2.4At), nelson (.200, 4.2At), wallace (.250, .1At), and pressey (.212, 1.5At) can barely shoot at all. thornton has shot well but has been injured for a good chunk of the season (.423, 3.6At). the league average is .352, boston is shooting .324. sullinger (.337, 3.3At) and Olynyk (.358, 2.5At) have boosted the percentage a bit.
but that's a whole slew of guards and wings who are average or below average at 3pt shots, and they're not exactly lighting it up with long 2's, either. i'd imagine it also makes it a lot easier for opposing teams to guard the paint. if the c's can get some better outside shooting, it should make life much easier for zeller, sully, and olynyk inside.
