The one that doesn't feature Evan Turner.
Why?
Busy, but the short answer is that throughout his NBA career he's been a net negative on ever team that's ever rostered him. The same remains true in Boston.
Except it was never true in the first place. He had 1 losing campaign in his first three years in Philadelphia and that was on a team where Holiday and and Thad Young were the two best players. He didn't exactly work out in Indiana, but the rumors of his death are highly exaggerated, so to speak.
agreed, and this raises some interested questions about turner. there is no doubt he is a physically talented player. currently, i think he is the closest the celtics have to a player who can make his own shot, hence the iso set for him at the end of the Wiz 2 OT.
the trouble, as i see it, is he is not a smart or efficient player. he forces shots, doesnt make the right pass, is often confused by defensive assignments, and is befuddled by complex offensive sets. simply stated, turner is just a plain basketball simpleton who has wonderful physical gifts.
enter stevens. turner said he joined the celtics since he WANTS to have stevens as his coach, teacher, mentor. if anyone can teach turner to use his abilities wisely and to provide him with a system that channels that talent, stevens is the person.
i think turner's role with the celtics will be a carefully orchestrated one. depending upon situations, match ups, contexts turner will be in games and will have specific jobs. within these contexts turner will be encouraged to free lance a bit and have easy decision making options. (pass, shoot, etc. depending upon specific circumstances.)
this will mean turner may have to be paired with other plays who have better vision/decision making abilities - smart, olly, et al. he may need players who can get HIM the ball at certain places and times so he can maximize his physical ability.
if stevens can teach turner AND provide specific scripts/plays/sets that play to turner's strengths and does not place him in the role of primary decision maker, i think turner will be very valuable player for the celtics.
he will probably never live up to the expectations of being the #2 over pick in the draft, but that is okay. the celtics didn't invest the pick in him. the celtics got him for free.
