I've never understood how that form doesn't mess up your regular shot in the game. To me it seems like it'd influence the mechanics of your other shot after extended time shooting like that, though there's not much to mess up on Robdo's shot right now lol
I actually don't think that his form is that bad, on his shot or at the line. If you look at the footage from earlier in his career, you'll see a HUGE difference in where his elbow is, but I don't think that he needs to change his form, necessarily, and, for those of you who think that he doesn't work on his free throws, watch how he holds the ball at the line. A few years ago, it was like everyone else did, but now he's changed his grip to be like Bass', which isn't a bad idea considering how great of a free throw shooter Bass is. Maybe he just needs to slow down when he's out there. I used to get so frustrated with free throws, because I would shoot hundreds of them a day, and yet, I always managed to miss them in games. They'd always roll out, and the rims were ridiculously tight, but it was infuriating, because it was always on line, but didn't always go in like it did at home. Ugh. I later went back and tried adjusting my approach, and I honestly think that I've found a way to make hitting free throws automatic, irrespective of how you hold the ball, and I've done so shooting with the same grip that Bass and Rondo have, while my overall form is modeled after Bird's - it just feels natural, you know? Don't ask me why, lol

Note - I haven't shot a basketball in around 2 years, haha, but I remember the strategy. As long as everything is lined up, it's incredibly difficult to miss. It all has to do with the alignment of the three middle fingers and the three loops on the rim through which the net is threaded. I couldn't believe how easy it was, haha
