So I know his name has come up before, but I gots to thinkin'... and he seems like the perfect "flyer" pickup for the Celtics.

1) He can play center (we should really get at least one of those)

2) He'd be the 3rd youngest player on the team after Young and Smart.

3) He was drafted too high, too soon by a crappy franchise, and might perform better with a change of scenery.

4) He has at least a couple of above average skills: 14 rebounds and 3 blocks per 40.

5) He is known for guarding multiple positions, a plus in B Stevens system.

6) Charlotte is unlikely to resign him with Vonleh, Jefferson, Zeller on the roster.

Now I wouldn't overpay for him, but this is young guy who could realistically come in and average something like 5/7/1.5 in 20 minutes off the bench, with good defense and versatility. He could have Perk-like upside at a small cost.

I'm fine with him getting a very very low money 2 year deal

Biyombo is the perfect value pick up, IMO. I think he has a chance to be really good. Would be happy if the C's could land him.

He's under contract with Charlotte for the last season of his rookie contract, for $4,086,453.  I think the OP was hoping to give Charlotte not much in return in a trade.

I agree.  I think some good coaching would help him a lot.

Is the timing such that they can not pick him up? Or did they already exercise him for this year?

Rookie options are exercised before the beginning of the previous season -- his option was picked up last October.

If we gave them Bass and a 2nd round pick for Biyombo and Brendon Haywood, would that help both teams?  We get a center that can allow Sullinger/Olynyk to play a little more PF.  They have Big Al and Zeller at the 5, and only Vonleh at PF if McRoberts doesn't stay.  Even if McRoberts stays, Vonleh will likely need a year to get stronger before he gets real minutes.

Haywood was traded to the Cavs on draft night.

Oh my bad.  Maybe Bass for Bitombo and Jeffrey taylor.  They arent going to play Taylor much with Hairston coming in.

fun fact: Bismack was the least passed to player in the league last year.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Joel Anthony, our 2015 2nd rounder, and cash considerations. for Biyombo?

Or a Wallace dump, like:

Wallace, Clippers 1st (2015) for Biyombo, Neal?

I'd be curious to see what kind of defense we could run if you have Smart, Bradley, Green, Biyombo out there - that's 4 guys who can legitimately guard two positions, albeit with some other weaknesses. Get a go-to PF on offense in there and maybe you're on to something.
