If danny is still looking to tank another year, seems kind of strange that he is out there contacting all these free agents, some that would actually improve our team.

In the event Rondo is traded I don't think it would necessarily be a "tank" move. I could see a situation where Rondo (28) and Green (27) are sent out of town and the Cs make a hard push for either Parson (25) or Hayward (24). The move would push the teams top talent back in age and open the team up for a longer rebuild. An example would be.

PG SMart
SG Avery
SF Hayward
PF Sullinger
???? filler for this season
6th KO
7th Wallace
8th Young
9th Pressey

This team much like Utah last year will play to win but not have the developed talent to make the playoffs. I would expect Smart, AB, Hayward, Sully, Ko and Young to develop good chemistry over the developmental season.  Next year their is a strong center draft and FA group. This will hopefully allow the Cs to add the necessary center to push this team into the playoffs.
Mavs

I don't like any of these players, particularly in what I envision the price to acquire them it would be.

What I definitely don't understand is the fascination around here to envision Gordon Hayward as a replacement for Jeff Green at the SF spot. That would simply be a huge mistake.

Now, if you envision Gordon Hayward in his actual position of strength, as a SG, then we can have a conversation.

Hopefully the report that the Celtics were the first call to Thomas just meant that no one before us really wanted to call. I really hope he doesn't come here. No need for Nate Robinson 2.0. But regardless, I like the work that DA is doing, literally contacting all of his options.

Also.. not at all big on Hayward.

Yeah, they report that we were the first to call but they don't mention that it was 8 hours into free agency because nobody else cared.

It also made me think about how many of these guys know Danny's voice...if I'm trying to get as many guys as possible I'm gonna line up a bunch of guys and just tell them to talk and introduce themselves as me...of course that's probably how some of the bad free agent agreements ocurred when an intern took the conversation too far and Danny didn't want the league knowing about his assembly line.

Danny's being diligent and probably has a flowchart made out with all the diff scenarios.  I'm still hoping for the Shamrock Miracle and Kevin Love walking thru that door.
