We get a big man and it will be fun.

It's going to be a fun season.

Rondo has never had a proper back up at PG. Marcus Smart can come in and spell him . . .without a major drop off. this is something Avery was supposed to provide but never could.

That's big.

Plenty of options at 2, 3 & 4 . .. so I agree that we simply need a starting caliber center to be competitive. Gortat, Greg Monroe would be best given the options. Past that, fliers on Greg Oden and Emeka Okafor / Pau Gasol would be short term help but still an improvement. Hope Danny gets crafty on the center front now. It's a must.

As do I. I have always followed my celtics, be they good or bad. Being good makes them easier to watch, but I will watch them regardless.

Last season many games were more fun to watch than two years ago.

This season I expect more time for the younger players and less for the vets. This will be a true rebuilding year in that regard.

Playoffs? Doubtful. They still don't have a go to scorer yet. They are still a mismatched team in terms of talent. They lack a strong center. Nor has rondo proven that he can add wins to the team in significant numbers. The past two years raise questions on this count.

But I hope to see olly get better, smart learn the nba and play with passions like a mini- KG, sully to be a beast under the basket, and rondo to make some sensational plays.

They remain my celtics and I will enjoy watching them.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Bad basketball is NEVER entertaining.
effort is entertaining.  effort in the regular season was missing since Sheed joined.  lack of effort = bad basketball

going to a game last year was more enjoyable because at least they played hard rather than those atrocious friday night games where they'd go through the motions and get their butts kicked by the likes of the Nets, Knicks, Raptors and Philly.
Thank you for waking me up.  I always tried to rationalize those Friday night loses on things like they just came back from a road trip and/or they were tired from visiting loved ones, etc.  Now I see the light...they just didn't put in the effort.  They basically took the night off.  They could have easily beaten those teams.  Instead, they just went through the motions.  Don't know why I didn't think of that at the time.
not sure if you're being sarcastic or not.

in any case, it was infuriating going to those games from the 2009-2010 season through the 2012-2013 season and see lackadaisical effort on the court when so many people were paying a lot of money of tickets to see them play.  so many losses those years to teams that were so clearly inferior.  that lack of effort came back to bite them in the 2010 finals when they didn't have home court advantage over the Lakers

Sadly, I was not being sarcastic.  In hindsight I realize I was totally naive.

Did not like watching the Celtics last season. Got fed up after about 30 games.

Yup. I think I took the last 10-12 games off in favor of, you know, better teams.

Even "IF" the C's don't make ANY moves over the next week or so, I'll still watch them forever.

Next season, with the roster as is, we're still looking at a 7th or 8th seed.

I'm still holding out hope that something happens after July 1st. If it doesn't then I look forward to seeing Jared play and get more minutes, KO's growth, and us getting a Center somehow.

As long as we're not revisiting the Lean Years I'm happy with the roster's progress. And with Danny at the helm, no more Lean Years (late 80's - Mid 2000s) for this team.

Did I mention our multiple picks over the next few years? :)
Amen even last year still watched almost all of our games way over half next year will be fun
