It's very hard to predict 2016 and beyond, but barring a major move (Love trade) it's fair to say that next year we'll have picks in the lottery (our pick), in the mid to late 20's (LAC), and in the early 30's (Philly).

Those Nets picks are looking better by the day though. Owner has had interest in selling the team, or at the very least, was gauging value in the franchise. It's also been mentioned that the Nets want to spend a lot less money going forward. No cap room, an aging team, and little to no picks over the next few seasons (Atlanta has the right to swap in 2015, Atlanta has their 2015 and 2017 2nd rd picks, and LAC have their 2016 2nd rd pick).

We may need them I think folks are scared to deal with Danny, as he has burnt them so often.

You never know what could happen with that Clippers pick with the West so loaded.  One key injury and that pick could be golden.

I can see as of now the Clippers, Spurs, Thunder, Rockets, Trailblazers, Warriors, Mavs and Grlizzlies all fighting for playoff position.   Then all of the lottery teams from this year could improve with the Pelicans leading the way along with the Nuggets, Suns, Kings, Utah, and Lakers (depending on what they do with their cap space).  I don't see how the Wolves make the playoffs at all, and hope to see Love in green by next year.   ;D

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
What do we get if the 6ers miss the playoffs

2 second rounders (2015, 2016)
Yes, beat me to it. A tp for your speed.

The problem is, we just used by far our best asset and a decent mid-round pick for ourselves. I am satisfied with the choices we made, but if we are in the market for a big star or two, we just limited what we had to offer, big time.

As for the Philly picks, I get that they aren't as good as if Philly just snuck into the playoffs, but they should be similar to two Heat/OKC/SA first round picks without the commitment, so that is good.

We just added two solid first round picks. We have (I believe) made good picks in KO and Sully. Rondo and Green have value here or elsewhere as all-star and athletic starter caliber players, respectively.

That's six strong assets with possibly 2 first rounders every draft for the next 4? I love it. Seems everyone wants to win now. I get that. But the C's are in great position moving ahead. If they only want one player in upcoming drafts, they can package picks and move up. They can use those picks, facilitate trades and generally have as much or more flexibility as any other team. That's beautiful. We don't have a well functioning roster today but we're on the right track and I think by the end of summer we'll have made a couple moves to shore up the C position and 2 spot.

Good things ahead one way or the other.

Nicely put. The future is bright.

I don't think the Clippers will fall off too much if Paul has another injury. Last season Blake proved he could lead the team by himself and they went 12-6 without Paul.

Our best assets right now are Smart, our own 2015 pick if there are no roster changes, Rondo, and Sullinger/Olynyk. The Nets picks really are way too far into the future to be worth a whole lot.
