also if he goes to Houston that's another bad fit. no pg still and I have a hard time believing harden can play with another ball hog.

but then again carmello has already proven he's not that bright.

Harden played pretty well with Westbrook and Durant.

Yea, coming off the bench

What does that have to do with the fact that he played very well alongside them? So he started the game in the bench, he also finished all those games.

People love to call him a ballhog and say he couldn't play with another elite, ball dominant scorer. He's already played and made it to the finals with 2 of them.
I think Harden has changed his game to be more ball dominant though. Not saying it couldn't work, but I'm sure it'd take some time.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--carmelo-anthony-leaning-toward-leaving-knicks--bulls--rockets-in-contention-161206919.html

From the story: New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony is leaning toward leaving in pursuit of immediate championship contention, and awaits the Chicago Bulls and Houston Rockets to clear the necessary salary-cap space to sign him in free agency, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

My thoughts:

1) Two less suitors for Kevin Love

2) Taj Gibson & Omer Asik are officially available...for likely not a ton in return.
Thoughts on this...

What if the Rockets and Bulls DO clear enough cap space?  I'd try hard as heck to get Kevin Love... because if the Knicks are faced with the very real possibility of losing Melo to the Rockets/Bulls for NOTHING... the prospect of a sign-and-trade with Boston sending back assets starts to look pretty appealing.

Option 1:  Melo leaves the Knicks and signs with the Rockets or Bulls .... Knicks get nothing in return.

Option 2:  Melo asks for a sign-and-trade to Boston.  Boston sends back cap filler and whatever picks we have left after landing Love.

Now you're talking

i would be more excited at the prospect acquiring of Melo than Love, tbh. If we can get both, then that team has definite championship aspirations.

Melo to Houston or Miami. I'll bet TPs against the field.

Me too. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have Love, but would love Melo even more!

Melo isn't coming to Boston unless love and rondo are both on the team.

Love is 5 years younger than Melo.  I'd rather build a young decent team, not a team centered around a guy on the back 9 of his career.  2008 was great and all, but would be nice to win and be young too.

Agreed, unless the deal to give him near max money falls through for both teams I think he leaves. He can get pretty similar money and join other all-star level players.

So they far saying melo to Houston or Chicago.  We could be impacted as the celtics represent one way of dumping salary with asik and Lin.  I would not mind this scenerio, though I want now part of Lin.

If Houston and Chicago are looking to create cap space to grab love, two good news for us.

1. Might be able to get someone like Asik at a discount in a trade.

2. Takes those teams out of the running for Love since Carmelo is their #1 target.
