Seeing all the flopping, in your face defense, free throw drawing ability and erratic shooting from Kyle Lowry, yeah, that's who Smart reminds me of, a bigger Kyle Lowry.  He's destined to be one of the most hateable players in the league.  That said, a bigger Kyle Lowry, provided Smart can improve his long-range shooting like Lowry has, would be a dang fine player.

I'm on board the Smart train, though I hope it doesn't come to that. If it ends up that he's the best player available then I take him and put Rondo on the block because I don't want to see Smart trying to be a SG.

At this point I think I'd take Vonleh over him but I'm not 100% on that. Maybe Rondo could fetch a lot and that ends up being the best overall path to take?

Like many others, his shooting concerns me, but that is possibly correctable.  Other than that, he's a terrific prospect, I believe.  If Danny likes him and picks him somewhere between 4 and 8, I'll be happy with that.

Question:  would it make any sense to go forward with both Smart and AB?

Yeah.  I think so. You set yourself up with a very solid guard rotation.  If AB takes a team friendly contract, it's pretty cost controlled too. That never hurts.  Develop them both and maybe trade one down the road.

I should have been a bit more clear, I meant that if we ended picking at 5 or 6 Smart would be my pick. If we jump up to the top 4 I have other guys ahead of him. I just love his fire and attacking nature.

Sounds good to me - I'm all for retaining young players and we haven't seen the best of AB yet...

It's "said around" that Danny doesn't like Smart. I like him. I like Exum way more (Danny also likes him).
It's going to be interesting to me to see how those guys careers go and test my observational skills against the Danny's.

I do not recall any news source where this was said or implied.

Some more "reliable" news sources talked that the Celtics love Exum. And Danny doesn't think the draft is too deep.
But my comment is about what's "said around" by some leaks.
A lot of stuff leaks in the nba. But we can't be sure until the time.
Goal for next season: Top 2 seed.
Say goodbye to: Turner, Zeller, Sully.
