this guy is terrible poker player.

1st off they had this imaginary deadline to move asik in Dec. which tells me they wanted to move him way before the actual deadline so that they would be in line to possibly make another deal. they showed their hand.

now they're just going to get low-balled because this is clearly postering. obviously they still want to move him or else they wouldn't come out and declare "we're just gonna keep him now".

I believe not,  think it was. Second rounder .,..thrown in latter

And Houston wanted a super good first round pick......which DA wasn't going to do

I thought it did, though it was a "leaked" deal straight from Morey.  They claimed we were just negotiating over which 1st they'd get.

But when we came out and said the offer was weeks old and had been rejected already, I don't think there was any denial of the pick being involved.  So it's anywhere from maybe to almost certainly depending on how concerned our leaker was with getting the details right.

No way.  The above is pretty classic GM-speak.  It means nothing, one way or the other.

This isn't even classic GM speak.  This is so comically over the top posturing that it can't even be considered that. 

No one for a second is going to believe Asik is staying in Houston, and they are going to pay him $15 million next year, while he piles up DNPs.

If he doesn't drop his demand of a good pick and a young good player (whose contract is also good) then he'll be DNPing it up for a long while.

Agreed, he will.  Basically I see him reopening conversations a week before the deadline, at which point he will really hear final offers, not the ones given at his made up deadline.
