Took Heat three yeas with new players a rookie coach to jell

If Nets take that long to learn each other....pierce be 39 and KG like 42 years old

They don t do it this year......no title with PP and KG there ....next year too late ...KG looks so frail

So...in essence if Brooklyn ends up with a worse record than Atlanta, then Atlanta gets Brooklyn's pick and the Celtics get Atlanta's pick? Do I have that right?

It's a bit confusing.

Take the first round picks of Atlanta and Brooklyn (after the lottery if both teams miss the playoffs).  The Hawks get whichever pick is better.  The Celtics get the other one.

Atlanta has the right to swap picks.  That trade came first and takes precedence.  The Nets traded the rights to whatever they have left after the swap.

I see...that's kind of a bummer. In other words, Atlanta gets put their hand in the cookie jar before the Celtics do.

Ok got it...I guess the ideal scenario would be if both the Hawks and Nets had an equally bad season, but don't see that happening.

Really? I see both teams rounding out the middle/lower half of the playoffs.

Good that the East is still the weaker conference after being revamped. Blazers, GSW, Thunder and Spurs plus Indiana and Miami for the top 6 records?

My guess, in no particular order: Dubs, Spurs, Miami, Chicago, Indiana, Thunder. I root for the Blazers nine times out of ten but I don't think they're going to maintain this hot start--definitely think that they'll make the playoffs though.

My dream scenario for the Nets - 7th seed, Atlanta - 8th seed (Celtics get Atl's 17th pick). Nets beat the Heat in the first round, KG and Paul go on a last run before riding into the sunset (retire).
Nets are bad for years to come afterwards and Cs end up with a wealth of quality youngsters.

Dream on...

Y'all are laughing, but it's sad. I go home and deny the wing."

I thought it might go badly for the Nets, but this is on the fast track to worst-case-scenario-land for them.

It is also best-case-scenario land for us, but I feel a little bit bad for Paul and Kevin.

Confusing emotions... mostly I feel bad that I'm happy about all this...

I wonder if there is anything we can offer Atlanta to reverse the order of those picks.  Anything helping them though is a bit risky as you're kind of banking on them finishing better than the Nets.

Or say Atlanta wants to blow it up which I doubt they do.  Offer anything outside of Sully and Rondo for Hortford and the right to swap those picks.  Maybe our 2014, clippers 2015, and our 2016 with Jeff Green, and the expiring of Humphries for Hortford, Korver, and the right to swap that 2014.  Then move Bass and Lee for a SF to split time with Wallace.  Puts us back in win now mode for this year with the better of the Atlanta/Nets pick.  Just thinking out loud on this one.   :-[
