This may be a contrarion view, but sometimes I think the team chemistry element of NBA teams gets seriously overlooked.

The big three, RR's injuries, terrible draft picks, etc. These hurts the Cs, but the thing is they were all unavoidable. Decision to get rid of supporting cast (primarily Scalabrine, though to a lesser extent Nate and Baby) has crippled team morale and really taken the team out of contention for the next couple of seasons at a minimum.

It's quite a shame, because these are the critical decisions Wallace et al should be getting right. Shame on him.

I agree that all these were unavoidable except for bad picks.
People like Melo and JJJ just don't belong

Scal wasn't traded.  I'm not sure it changes your point, but his contract expired and the Celtics let him walk.

I would have liked Scal to come back, and I agree that the team struggled to find the chemistry of that 2008 team.  I think that losing players like T. Allen, Powe, and Perk had a bigger effect on chemistry, though.

I'm pretty sure losing Nate and Baby didn't cripple team morale.

This is what I was going to say.  We lost our toughest player 4 years in a row, inserting Posey into that group.  Lost the Ubuntu.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Wait, is this a serious post? I'm not sure how I feel about this being a serious post.
