As for Brooks, who played only 2:27 in his Boston debut on Monday, Stevens noted, "MarShon got a headache in the middle of practice. He met with [trainer] Ed [Lacerte], and Ed thought it was best that he go home. I don’t know [the prognosis] long term, but he was here at the start [of practice]."

....okay....

If you've ever had a migraine or cluster headache you'd understand that they are serious medical issues. They can effect your vision, balance, and coordination in addition to just being plain painful. Not something you can play through if the symptoms are severe.

Also they often get worse if you're active and moving around exercising. Accelerated heart beat, light, noise, and motion all aggravate the condition.

Now that's not to say he just wasn't hung over and lying about it to get out of practice. Migraines are the go to excuse for many drug seekers just because they're pretty much impossible to conclusively verify outside of an immediate brain scan while they're occurring.

No doubt on how severe these things can be, just thought it was odd.

Migraines can be completely debilitating, so if that's the case, it's very understandable.

Thankfully, they generally last only a few hours, (though I've had some last nine or ten days, but that's pretty rare).

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
Well regardless of how weird it was, Brad Stevens has said for us to expect to see more of Brooks and Pressey next game, and I'm excited to see how those two youngsters do in game night against the Knicks!

Brooks got a headache after looking at how good our team is going to be in practice ;D

Joking aside, I am excited to have this kid. I hope Brad uses him alot as the primary 2 of the bench.

Call me foolish, but I love a guy that can shoot. Think Ray Allen, but younger.

Too bad, would have liked to see him get some more floor time to see if he's improved.  He had a very short stint last game but I didn't see anything different.

Unless he improves Crawford is just a better player.

This guy shot like 20 percent from three last year, so we are going to need to see big time improvement before he's drawing Ray Allen comparisons.

I would've bet on Brooks over Crawford, but Crawford's ball handling might be his edge.

If Pressey wins minutes at PG, it shifts someone else out, possibly at SG (Crawford, Bradley, and by extension Brooks).

The ball handling and passing Crawford can give is more valuable.

And as I said, Brooks three point shooting is very unacceptable for guard that is supposed to be a scorer (and without some outstanding slashing ability to make up for it).

I think Crawford's passing, ball handling, better three point shooting percentage (at even his not that great number from last year), and better rebounding make it an easy choice.

Now maybe Brooks improves, we will see.  Which is why it's disappointing he won't play.  But he needs to show improvement.

I am going to take a page out of Tommy's book and say that Brooks sorta reminds me of Larry Bird :D

I'll take Ed Lacerte's recommendation and if he felt it was best for Brooks not to play, so be it.  Hopefully it's a minor bug for him and he'll be back and ready tomorrow night!
