As I said, to each his own, though time heals all wounds ... I'm told. ;)
You're the doctor so you should know my friend!  ;D

I wonder if it has something to do with age. I know my sons are all 19+ and are more fans of players at times than fans of teams while I have always been a team first guy and when players have left the teams I have followed, I stopped caring about them. I also wonder how much the proliferation of fantasy basketball accounts for such things.

Oh well. TP Bahku.
I am the opposite.  While I follow the team first, I always seem to get overly attached to certain players and styles of play...and tend to follow (at least keep interest in) the player and new team.  I don't watch every game, like I do the Celtics, but I will keep track the Nets and the Clippers, out of the corner of my eye.  Once I am attached to a player, I can't easily drop them.
So what you're saying is it is not an age thing?!  ;) :D ;D

I tried watching a few Nets games last year and they were so boring.  KG and Pierce have a way to absolutely suffocate the other team on defense, but that is probably going to make the games less watchable than anything (although Celtics fans might be able to apprciate that).

With the league being so crazy next year, I think I'm probably going to skip a lot of their games.  Honestly, there are going to be so many fun to watch mediocre teams next year I'm pretty excited.  Think about Gordon Hayward being a 20 ppg scorer going against the Bobcats/Hornets with a frontline of Big Al / Good Zeller / MGK.  Think about the no defense battles between the Pelicans and Blazers.  Granted, Houston / Brooklyn will be nuts, but I'm really excited about the league this season.  I think it's going to be crazy.

I was just waxing nostalgically over George Scott, Yaz, and my favorite all time team, the Bruins of Orr, Espo, Cheevers, Cashman, Hodge, Bucyk, McKenzie, Vadnais, Sanderson, O'Reilly, and Marcotte. I was a tyke when they were great and can still remember the first two lines and three to four defenders on that team like it was yesterday.

That was back in the day when I was following the big bad Broons,, too.  LOL

Years later, Esposito turned up in Tampa...and I sort of got semi-interested in hockey (the Lightning) again!   As the first child (by 6 years), my dad, who was a major sports fan and sometimes even participant, passed on his love of sports to me.  Dad was friends with Yaz, and I knew a few of the Red Sox in the early 70's.   After moving to Florida I had fun following the ups and downs of the Rays.  Exciting team.  Good times.

All the Celtics games and the key playoff ones...I think that's what most people are watching right?
