If this is as reliable as the:

Datome is going to be signed by the Celtics
Schroeder has a promise to be drafted from the Celtic
Giannis Adtetekunbo is the next Scottie Pippen per Danny Ainge

Then, my guess is he never sees the inside of the TD Bank North Garden.

Even if you read this rumor, you have to think about it on your own.

Danny has clearly said he needs to tidy things up in the C/PF and Guard positions. Why would he add to the mess first?? And also why a foreign player (when usually they are risky pickups)

Danny has to worry about now keeping, trading cutting between Humphries, Bass, Iverson, Melo, Shav. Lets just wait until end of Jul first

This guy is no scrub.  He is an incredible prospect.  It will be a huge for the Celtics if they can get him.  Right now he's a 25 year old, bigger Chris Wilcox.  He has a Marc Gasol type ceiling though.

May I ask the basis for this endorsement?
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Watching games on youtube.  He comes off the bench.  He wears number 13.  He plays for the Orange team.  He's the huge 6'11 guy with a couple of chase down blocks, a 3 pointer, a monster slam and some nice low post moves before half-time.

This signing is Yahoo! legit. More legit than the Datome signing and the Datome signing in turn seems more legit than the """"draft rumors"""". Draft rumors are almost always bull.

Plus, some sources have already indicated Datome was split between the Celts and other teams. This one seems like a sure thing.

Quite excited at the possibility of finally have a solid center who can play 36 minutes without getting completely slammed and injured.

The small ball experiment was Doc's but he probably also had a say in the roster. The immediate signing of 3 legit 7 footers after Doc's departure?

Not hating on Doc but I didn't like small ball, like most people.

Averaged like 9 PPG and 4 RPG, hardly a superstar.   But he is huge and takes up space.  Another project.

The Celtics were in discussions yesterday with Vitor Faverani, a 6-foot-11 Brazilian center who played last winter for Valencia of the Spanish League. However, contrary to international reports, the talks were far from complete.

The main sticking point appears to be that the 25-year-old big man, who has played in Spain since he was 17 and is also a member of the Brazilian national team, is under contract.

A buyout, something the cost-conscious Celtics are loath to do, would be involved.

You were scoffing as to the initial report, but immediately following a bunch of much more known sources were confirming the same thing.

The Schroeder & Giannis rumors could have easily been draft smoke screens, so those you can't put too much stock in those. However, the Datome one was indeed valid and we lost him to Detroit.

The point is that just because things aren't reported by ESPN, Yahoo, etc. doesn't mean they should be dismissed. There is validity to some of these stories.

Also, take note that the title of the thread reads "C's interested". Apparently you do agree that there is interest by the C's so wouldn't that make the story "reliable"?

Obviously the report wasn't reliable because the C's are scoffing at having to pay his buyout, something completely not mentioned in the original reports. And, if they don't buy him out, then I was right, he will never see the inside of the Garden as a Celtic. So the report was unreliable.

Now if you want to play word games with the word "interested" I am sure the C's were also interested in Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Josh Smith and every other player in free agency this year. Doesn't mean it was going to happen.

Again, him officially being signed and the team having interest in him are two very different things. You were dismissive at the report that the C's had interest, which was proved validated by other supporting media outlets.

I'm not playing word games here, but you're wavering as to what you were dismissive about. So now it's about the buyout, right?

And are we really comparing Faverani to the likes of CP3, Howard, etc? Really? It's okay to be wrong on occasion, and it's even more commendable to admit it.
