Wouldn't LA do a sign and trade just to get back some assets and keep Howard out of the West.  If they really only have a couple more years with Kobe trying to win a title, why would they let DHoward make a super team in the West.

If they want to contend this year, we could give them role players like Bass, Brooks and Lee who would be good in D'Antoni's system of up and down.  We could also send them a big expiring contract in Humphries.

If they realize it is over, we could set them up with picks a couple years out.  Either way, Howard is out of the West and the Lakers have an easier time of it.

The point is, I don't think the Lakers are the problem, I think Dwight is.  I don't think he wants to live in Boston, which is crazy, because if you have been to Houston you know it is hell on Earth.  They could make me God of Houston and I wouldn't live there.  The only thing Houston has going for it is strip clubs.

I'd be much happier with a Rondo, Smith, Green core rather than a Rondo, Smith, Howard trio. At least Green can shoot and will likely continue to get better for us.

Not necessarily. I don't know. When I see Jeff Green, I see an average role player.

Apparently when others see Green, they see a superstar. Not sure what I am missing.

Jeff green is a superstar that hasnt had his chance to show hes one. He'll get it this year. Regardless of who pick up this offseason.

I don't see it.

We have to wait till July 10th and then we will know what Danny is doing.

July 10th( when nets trade is finalized)

That would be the 12th because of Joseph.  Have to wait 60days since the Nets signed him.

Ainge already talked bout this in his press conference yesterday and clearly stated that he called Howard's people and was told he is not interested at all in coming to Boston.

why does there always have to be a jerk comment on this board? I didn't say we are defiantly getting howard, I just wanted to talk about the possibility. Is there an age limit around here?
I think the possibility of getting Howard is in the neighborhood of .00000000000000000000000000000000001%.

Add about 10 zeros to add for the possibility of adding Howard without giving up Rondo and/or Green.

So if that makes me a jerk, fine.  But given those odds, this isn't even worth discussing.

Post All-Star break stats for Green:

17.3 pts 49.3% FG% 43.9% 3pt FG% 79.8% FG% 5.0 Reb 2.7 Ass 2.0 TO

Those #'s are pretty much what Paul Pierce did post All-Star break.  Green will be 27 when the season starts.  His development has been delayed by his heart condition so he's not where he would've been without it.  I expect Green to put up as good or better #'s as Pierce next year.  Superstar?  Probably not but a star level player is very possible.

TL; DR. And thought I read on a twitter source that Dwight Howard is not interested in Boston.

Either way, the only way he'll come is by being able to persuade him and Josh Smith to come. Why would he play for Boston? He is a drama queen remember. It'll be difficult to get drama queens to act accordingly.
