Rondo, the kid gives up the ball.   He is a pass master who would not want to catch those passes.

Exactly, who wouldn't want to play with a pass first point guard?

Trade for a soon-to-be free gent with a year or less left on his contract and hope you can convince him to stick around.  Be willing to give up enough in assets that it would be an overpay on a one-year-rental and a bargain if he signs a new deal.
