NO chance I move the 16 for Thomas Robinson. None.

You would think people would realize that a lottery pick who is a bust his first year is far more likely to be a bust overall than his lottery position would suggest.

Wouldn't it depend on who is at 16 when we are picking?

I'm not all that interested in moving 16 for Robinson if we have to do it before the draft, just because you never know who might slip and be there at 16. But I'd definitely consider it on the day.

Alternatively I think that its possible to get Robinson for less than a first if we can offer a second round pick and some cap space (trade lee for Memphis exception plus some of the China 3) and then throw in a second round pick and I'd say Houston would be interested at the very least.

Robinson had a rough rookie season, but a lot of players bounce back, especially the athletic ones.

Is that because A) he and Sully are similar, making Robinson redundant, B) despite being on his rookie contract, he (in your mind) is overpaid, or C) you think we can get a better player at #16 than Robinson?

Id try for it if we didnt have Sully. Dont see why the would make that deal though. I am still in the camp of trading away the 16 as being the best idea for us.

We're gonna get him. He was the most NBA-ready player in the draft last year, we're gonna snag him for a first (hopefully).

Have you watched him play? he was not nba ready. Sullinger was for sure, but not t-rob.  It's incredible that already a 2nd team is trying to trade him, despite Robinson not spending a year in the league.

This is strange to me, too. The fact that he's about to be traded a second time.

Some argue the Rockets are selling him short for cap relief. But isn't a rookie contract insignificant?

I worry that it might be some behind the scenes stuff, like the possibility that he's "uncoachable" and such.

Color me intrigued with some caution. I'd definitely say yes to 16 for him.

However, as reported by this article, Houston is not specifying what pick they want. Perhaps they're just more excited about one of the higher picks this draft than T-Rob.

They're not trading him because he lacks talent. They're trading him because they want a superstar. He's just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

He's easily averaging 10/10 per 36.

I think the kid can play is and is a better athlete than Sully but Sully has that moxie and the intangibles about knowing how to play better.

Not too many. Here's the full list of every 16th pick since 1990:

The best ever in that slot is Stockton (1984). That was hardly a weak draft - and has a good case to be the best ever (Jordan, Olajuwon, Barkley, Stockton etc.). Throw that one out.

Past that you have two very good starters (Turk and Metta), a couple of other decent players (Knight, Gatling, Vucevic), some borderline guys and a bunch of dreck.

I'll be honest, the only thing I know about his is from that video and reading this post. Also I realize it is a high-lite real. Seems like he has a natural talent to get to the hoop, most people in the NBA never have that kind of natural ability.
